I was thinking of applying early decision for one of the universities I've had in mind. but I don't know when the application needs to be handed in. I wanted to retake my SAT one more time this October, and one or two subject tests in November. would they be in time for the early decision application deadline? and if not, is there a way to have the scores sent later?

if i remember correctly, you can only apply Early Decision to one school since that is a binding agreement if you're accepted. however, Early Action is where you can apply to multiple schools and not be restricted by the binding nature.

most early decision apps are due november 1st or 15th with the results of acceptance/rejection out december 15th or around there. i guess it depends on your school, but you should get your tests out of the way by the november one and then rush scores if your school is picky about it. i dont think the december scores will be reflected on your application since it's a bit late, but who knows. just call up the school and ask them about it.

yeah I'm aware that early decision is for only one school and early action can be for more than one.

umm...what are the advantages of early decision anyway?

ppl usually apply to their top choice school ED.. it makes it seem like the student is very enthusiastic in attending their school since obviously, it's their #1 and that becomes like a +1 for their admission. if ur very very sure that there is one school you would absolutely go to if accepted, then ED is for you.

I'm in the same boat....I may need to retake in November too and so I guess my dreams of early action are over.
