For the UC apps:

How do I add a class that I took at a college? (sociology)

anddddd how do I add classes like PE, Dr. Ed, Health? what would they be under?

For college classes it's under:
"College/University Courses: For any UC-transferable college course you have completed, select "CL" from the honors status dropdown."

and UCs don't take PE classes and the like.

Hi guys another question:

Common's App:

Is it better to put down just one area of academic concentration/major--or is also okay to put down more than one since it has the question in plural?

"Possible area(s) of academic concentration/major(s)"

When identifying what ethnicity I am: Can I bubble in Asian American, but also bubble in Other and specify? My parents are from Laos but we're not Laotian, so I don't want to there to be a misunderstanding. Or would that be odd??? Or would that mean they would think I'm biracial?

for the UC personal statement, i'm not sure how to approach questions 1 (academic preparation) and 2 (potential to contribute). i've already written question 3 using 600 words, that leaves the rest of the two essays w/ 200 words each.

i was wondering, given only 200 words to develop each essay, is it better to just state it as straightword as possible (avoiding "creative" style)? how'd you guys write them?

A mix, but defniteley more straightforward. It doesn't really matter though. For example, I have a friend who is writing a poem for his 200 word response. (Although that is pretty risky, haha).

This is a really dumb question... but...
When you're sending in your applications, does it matter if your transcript don't arrive the same time your applications does?

write formal rhetoric, no chicago style or sarcasm, satire etc.. it doesn't matter what you write about they just want to see how you can express your thoughts through writing. you could write about pokemon and if it was hella good they'd love to have ya. it really has nothing to do w/ your topic although it would be nice to have one that stands out.

it doesn't matter, because of course your test scores and everything don't all arrive on the same day ...they'll have a file for you.

^ If you think there are problems, call the admission office. But another option you have (that not everyone knows about) is calling the admission counselor of your area.

http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate...sion_counselor/

These counselors are extremely helpful and can help you with anything.. questions about the campus, questions about admission, even questions about your file (they have your file and can look up things). Also, you won't have to be on hold for an hour, usually the counselors' lines are pretty open.

I am applying to University of Washington Seattle. There is this one section where it asks for college courses taken in junior and senior year of high sachool, are they asking for AP classes or something else?

Yes, you use the common app forms if you are using the common app.

They're asking if you took any classes at a community college/university, outside of school. Not AP classes.

Okay I'm still confused about sending scores:

I'm going to take my SAT II's this Saturday--so in the send scores to college part I put down four schools but does that mean only Previous test scores will be sent or does that include the ones I'm taking that day?

Do I have to wait until the scores are available for the upcoming test date to actually even request scores be sent?

I'm lost, if I send now it won't include Saturday's tests?????

Please help.

And if I'm just sending now and priority deadline is Friday does that mean my application is incomplete?

When identifying what ethnicity I am: Can I bubble in Asian American, but also bubble in Other and specify? My parents are from Laos but we're not Laotian, so I don't want to there to be a misunderstanding. Or would that be odd??? Or would that mean they would think I'm biracial?

That part is to specify your ethnicity, not your nationality.
Besides, youre not even from Laos anyway.

If I were you, I wouldn't even touch the ethnicity category (I believe it's optional). Being an Asian-American is definitely NOT an advantage (Asians aren't a minority when it comes to college), especially in schools that have affirmative action, so unless you're very involved in your culture (as part of your extra-curriculars, etc), steer clear from this one.
