Is 1042 for my personal essays okay (total)? Or are they too long? :x

That's odd.. I submitted mine last night and I had a total of 1014 words.
It should let you input it even if it does go above 1000.

On the 3rd part of the Personal Statements (Additional Comments section) for the UC apps, do you write in paragraph form, or will one or two sentences do?

For example, if I wrote, "I was not able to take AP Physics because of conflicting schedules." or something like that, will it be ok?

The 'Additional Comments' section is optional. So they don't really need to know that you couldn't take AP Physics because you didn't have room. I don't think that's what they're looking for in that section. You use it to either tell them about something about yourself you couldn't tell in other parts of the application with a 500 word limit or tell them reasons for why certain parts of your application are the way they are like why you're applying for EOP, why you might have D or Fs, etc. It's not formal either; none of the personal statement section really is. Write one or two sentences if you want; write a paragraph if you want. But UCs love everything short, simple, and to the point.

AIGOO. I'm sending in my CSU apps today. ._.;;;;
I just wanted to ask if we took classes at a college do we also list them? -confused- @@;
Does anyone know if we have to list courses under the "College Preparatory Elective (Area G)?" Because I didn't take any of the courses listed except for pyschology except I took that as a college course. ._.
And if I did list psychology, do I have to calculate it into my gpa?

@@; Thanks to anyone who can answer me. I'm so behind. T_T

I have a flyer from UC and it says 10-12 words over max. But who knows...it's sorta random depending on your word lengths. It'll automatically cut off once you reach the limit

I had a UCSB admissions officer come to our school and tell us that UCs take up to 1100 words. Anything after is cut off.

^ i guess you could make a thread about that. blink.gif

i suggest using PMs to exchange essays rather than posting it out for everyone to see.. for security issues i guess? yeah iono. :/ it'd be better just to have someone you know and trust to read your essay (ex: teacher; older siblings, parents, etc)

deadline is today isn't it?
if so, transcripts are supposed to have been postmarked or already sent to them by today.
that's how it works for every other college, so i'm assuming that that's how it works for UCs
