When I took it, I thought the US History SAT II was a little bit easier than the AP exam. It's all MC so it's pretty straight-forward.

for UCs, do you have to send in your official transcript like any other schools? or do they have their own thing to fill out on the app? :T

No, you don't send in a transcript. You just write down all your grades in the uc app and then
after you get accepted, you have to send in the official transcript.

I don't think it matters cause the common app recommendation basically comes from the john hopkins recommendation, so basically it's the same thing.

Oh okay. I just learned how confusing the college application process was a few hours ago because.....I just started really researching about the schools I'm applying to. xD I just don't want to do something stupid as in using the wrong recommendation form and end up getting rejected...-___-".
Thanks! smile.gif

andd...for USC, on part 1 they ask you to put in your best SAT scores and they don't ask if you plan on taking any more in the future. what if you plan on taking SATs again after part 1 is due? ._. should i just send in part 1 with my scores that i have now?
thx akupishi @ lj for av<3

For those applying to Johns Hopkins:

A college rep. came by my school today so I asked him about the forms. He said that there are 3 ways to apply, JHU form, Common App, or Universal App. He said whichever you choose, stick to just that one and not to mix and max. I'm going to use Common App, therefore I have to use all the forms from Common App (teacher rec, secondary report, midterm report, etc).

I just wanted to clarify for anyone applying there since I was confused myself.

I heard that for colleges with competitive majors, it's not a good idea to be "undeclared".
How about all the UC's?
I'm leaning towards the sciences..like bio/chem/etc but im not really sure.
is it hard to change into a science major after putting undeclared at UC campuses?

This is dependent on the school, but it's true from an experience I'm hearing, especially at Berkeley. You're competing with freshman applicants who have amazing stats and know what major they want. Try finding a major which sounds interesting and related to what you might want to do in college.

I emailed USC and they said to put the best scores you have for now. Just send in your College Board scores with your Part II application.

^ My friend is applying early to NYU biggrin.gif According to her there is a 48% acceptance rate for NYU early decision.

And YES you can apply online and send your transcript/etc. via mail (doesn't your school send out your transcript+recs for you anyways?).

hello everyone! question about college apps: is it okay for one teacher to send letters of recs through the internet and another to send it via hardcopy mail? and also, is the transcripts always sent by hardcopy only? thanks for the answers. (oh yea, this specifically applies to syracuse uni, boston college, northeastern uni, and cornell)

im applying to a lot of UCs right now and i hope im doing this right but you start by doing the uc california admission right?
do you have to list all your courses from the 9th grade and can you change the major you pick for each school?
and also, after you do this application do you apply for the school you wanna go to separately? like berkeley or ucla
