So I'm applying to Gonzaga through the common app, and I have everything submitted except for my counselor's recommendation form. She hasn't submitted it yet (because teachers are supposed to do it themselves online), and the app IS DUE TODAY (2/1). i emailed her to remind her, but she didn't email me back. so basically, there is 4 hours `til tomorrow comes.
asgoa;sierua. i am freaking outttt.
does this mean i'm screwed? meaning gonzaga's gone for me?
& ssarahleee, i think that personal statement length means like a short answer. not necessarily a notish like thing, but a really short essay. like 2-3 paragraphs maybe?

when are essay prompts usually released?
I've heard that UC prompts are really similar every year so you can start writing before the prompts are released, but what about the privates?
I want to get as much done as possible during the summer...
2 essays at least for most schools?
no wonder seniors talked about dying during 1st semester.

Also on the common app they give you the choice of writing an essay of your choice.

If anyone starts early, I'll have lots of time to help you out this summer. Not yet sure how busy I will be during the school year.
Anyway, shoot me a PM if you're interested. Good luck everyone!

Yes you post it in the activities section. You can't list totally how many hours you've done, but you can list approximately how many hours/week, and how many weeks/year.

I know that for teacher recommendations, you should ask a math/science/english teacher to write you recommendation letter, but I have a dilemma: should I ask my 11th grade English teacher (who thinks I'm okay/prolly forgot about me already) to write it, or should I ask my japanese teacher (she likes me A LOT & I had her for 3 years, but she's a n00b at school so it'll be her first letter)?
I just started my application today, so I was given a list of due dates for everything (called a "to do list"?)and it's all due on 9/17/2009. The website says that the application deadline is Nov 1st though?? I'm also taking the October SAT, so how do I make that September due date??? Is the "to do list" like an on official reminder or is it something that will be enforced if I don't make the dates?

For your recommendations, I'd use the teacher who you had a closer relationship with.. Yes, math/science/english teachers are probably the preferred ones, but I think the japanese teacher would be okay too since that's an academic class.
Also, I'm not sure about the due dates? 9/17 might be the deadline for early applicants because most colleges I know usually accept applications up until nov/dec? You'll want to double check on that because most colleges are very strict on their deadlines.

I had this exact same dilemma before. I'm majoring in Business so I thought it'd be good to ask my math teacher who I'm not too close with or my Computer Applications and Graphics teacher who I had for 2 years. I decided to go with my comp app/graphics teacher because I've been with her for 2 years and she knows me alot more than my math teacher.
