hey everyone~ thank you so much for clicking~
so i had this really long talk today about joining the navy... but the thing is that i am stuck in finding information online. i tried google, but it didn't give me a list, instead they gave me articles about something else O_O;;; so i'm really desperate in finding information about any naval academy colleges~ i know that Texas A&M and Westpoint are well-known for their majors AND the navy, but i want to know more about the other ones that i haven't heard of.
i also heard that it's really hard to get into it and i'm really scared... i'm not a smart student and i didn't do so well in any of the tests that i took during my junior year (SAT, SAT II, and AP) i am really frightened and losing motivation... but i'm so linked and interested in joining the navy... *sigh* am i too late to improve? i'm taking the SAT again in october and i have made a promise to myself that i would study my butt off for the rest of the remaining months until the SAT test day. but... i have this thing on the back of my head saying that it's too late for me to improve... i'm just being really stupid with myself >0<;;;;
i really need your help, tips, and opinions! soompiers please help solly out! ToT;;;
EDIT: i'm also talking about like ROTC kind of programs for financial aids and stuff. xDDDD

I don't mean to intrude on your plans, but I seriously suggest you reconsider about joining the Navy. I have a friend who was in Spec Ops during post-Vietnam who told me a lot about the different parts of the US military. He told me that the Navy was by far the worst place for someone to join because of how harshly recruits are treated.
Give Air Force ROTC a chance and see how well you think you might like it. In terms of training, it's not as intensive as the Army. I got a crapload of stuff from the US Navy and Air Force at a career night event, so I'll flip through them and see if there's anything there that you might be interested in.

when you say "naval academy colleges" you mean colleges that offer navy ROTC. There is only one Naval Academy, and West Point is NOT navy, it's army.
If you join the navy ROTC in college, and if you meet all the requirements of the ROTC, you will graduate college as an officer. same thing if you go to the Naval Academy (the one in Annapolis, md). However, it's much harder to get into the Naval Academy- you need good grades & test scores, a good background in athletics, and a recommendation by your state congressman via an interview.
I don't think Navy ROTC is too hard to get into, but it's probably the staying in part that's harder.
If you graduate from ROTC or Naval Academy, you owe 5 years (i think) in active duty and some more years in reserve.
Also, I don't think there's much difference in strength of NROTC programs. Nobody's gonna say, "oh you were in NROTC at blahblah school? the NROTC at blahdeblah school's better" or anything like that.
here's a partial list of schools that offer NROTC:
Cornell, UPenn, Boston College, Penn State, Duke, UNC, NC State, Rice, Texas A&M, UVA, George Washington, etc etc etc
go to http://www.navy.com/careers/nrotc/colleges/ for a full list.
what KOREA.012 said was right about the air force being less intensive. i dont know about the navy treating its recruits harshly, though. (but if you do NROTC, you wont be a "recruit"- you'll be an officer.) anyway, air force does get less respect from the other branches because of their less-intensive training.
if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. although im not involved in the navy myself, i have a lot of friends at the naval academy, and my boyfriend just graduated from there and went into the marine corps.
good luck

omg, thank you so much you guys!
yes, i've heard unpleseant comments about the navy and how women were raped O_O;;; so i might reconsider and think about joining the air force. i'm not exactly sure, but i'm more interested in the navy though. i'm trying to get as much information as possible of each crew before i make my final decision. i'm actually looking for colleges that has a program with the ROTC. that list would definitely help me a lot! thank you both! :DDDD
