(i'm gonna be a sophomore so i really dont know my way around collegeboard sleep.gif)
LIST OF AVAILABLE SUBJECTS ON NOVEMBER

U.S. History
Literature
Chemistry
Physics
Mathematics Level 2
Chinese with Listening
French with Listening
German with Listening
Japanese with Listening
Spanish with Listening
Korean with Listening
Mathematics Level 1
Biology E/M

i'm going to take korean for sure, b/c that's the only reason i'm taking it on november
here's my questions
1. what's the difference of math levels in mathematics 1 and mathematics 2?
2. what does 'E/M' mean in biology E/M?
3. for the bio one, do you need to know like AP bio level work?
4. for literature, like what's on it (it's too vague! T^T)

math 1 is easier than math 2 but the math 1 scale suckss so you might as well take math 2.

i thought math 1 dont count.. math 2 has some trig in it but its simple.
literature is easy- its mostly reading passages & answering questions.

math 1 is essentially the same type of stuff on the SAT I. math 2 covers some precalc stuff. the difficulty of math 1 is much easier, but its hard to score highly. if you miss just 2 or 3 questions, you're gonna be at 750 or lower, probably, since the curve is so brutal. math 2 is more difficult, but the curve is a lot nicer. my friend skipped about 10 problems and he still got 700.

2. what does 'E/M' mean in biology E/M?
E = environmental. M = molecular. i forget how many questions there are, but lets use 60 for an arbitrary number. of those 60, 40 will be identical questions for both tests. you then choose either E or M for the other 20 questions, depending on which type of biology you feel more comfortable on. i found E to be a easier than M.

i would definitely recommend it if you want to score over 700, which i'm assuming you did since you're taking SATIIs in the first place.

it's basically reading comprehension stuff with a wider variety of passages compared to the SATI. i'm good at this type of school, so i took it... but apparently i did very poorly. lol.

Math IC tests up to geometry/algebra I. It's basically identical to the SAT I math section. most colleges don't accept this anymore

Math IIC is harder but the curve is nice

The Bio E/M tests both have 80 questions each. 60 are core questions and are the same for both tests. The other 20 questions are either molecular or ecology based. I've heard the Ecology test is easier but it depends on you. You don't have to take AP bio but I'd strongly advise it. It's so much easier after you've taken the AP class.

What's a good book to study for SAT II Literature? Does SAT II tests for senior year still count on transcript?

1. mathematics 1 covers algebra 1 and geometry concepts. even though it might be easier than mathematics 2, which covers a lot of topics you learn in precalc/trig, the curve is less generous. you can get more wrong on the mathematics 2 and still get a higher score. also, some colleges dont accept mathematics 1. you'll have to check on that

2. E= ecology, M= molecular. take the ecology section if you are more comfortable with topics focused on the environment. take the molecular section if you are more comfortable with topics focused on the structures of cells and body stuff (dna, the systems, etc.)

3. it is recommended that you have taken the ap class. it will be very hard to score above 600 without having taken the class

4. its pretty much like the CR portion on the SAT I. reading passages and analyzing it

soompi, being not part of college board, doesn't always have info on sat 2 tests. however, since sat2 is part of college board, their website does
