Geely is going to be sold around $9,000 in 2008 on the u.s. mainland. Just give me your thoughts on this Chinese car. I've bought around 20,000 shares of the stock on the pink sheet stock market. ahhaha, it's cheap right now. anyways, i bid u adieu. Since I've bought the stock the price has risen from 0.04 to 0.14. I've made a few thousand off it already, I'm just thinking like a businessman instead of a consumer, because I believe the car is crappy, but I bought on the basis of hype and potential returns before I sell. It'll probably still go up until the first few cars come out and people get hurt.

once upon a time I was told politely by a kind man: "the reason why people don't seem to be on your side is because your attitude is foul. It's not what you say because you don't actually say anything explicitly offensive, but the air that comes off of what you say can be quite offensive, and some of it show veiled aggression"

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

Holy crap... the stock is that low? You can literally buy thousands of shares for nothing.

First... they need to change the name. Americans will be repelled by the name Geely. Secondly they will need a lot of "geely" to compete in such a saturated market. I wouldn't even consider a Chinese car until 20 years from now if they have a good track record for at least 10 years.

Who the hell would buy a car named Geely?
Especially after that other chinese car had like 0 star crash test rating. = ="

Just to address some of the comments here, yea the company is changing the model names for their cars to tailor to north american tastes, but I believe their keeping the brand make/brand name. Also, someone mentioned that the cars wouldn't be in Canada, actually they are also coming to Canada in 2009, a year after their arrival in the U.S. in 2008, which in turn will follow the initial trial of cars in Puerto Rico (U.S. commonwealth state) in late 2007. The car that did poorly in the crash test ratings was the Landscape or Landmark Chinese car, which scored 0, but it is an SUV company that delayed the arrival of other Chinese cars by hurting Chinese makers reputations, it's totally different from Geely. Geely already sells in Africa, China, the Middle East, Malaysia and Indonesia. The car's appearance looks like a rip-off of several cars including a mercedes c class, BMW badge, and the VW Jetta in my humble opinion. I hear the inside is a real piece of crap, but I still suspect there is a market to be had of economy car consumers just looking to get from point a to point b....if their lucky... anyways, it's a safe bet as an investment for myself as it's cheap, nothing to lose, then sell before people can react to it. A couple more years to make money.

However, all in all, Chinese cars will make an impact someday, it's inevitable. People say, Japanese cars took 20 years to make an impact (1980's-2000), Korean cars took about 10-15 years (late 80's to 2000-ish, Hyundai's are selling well now, and KIA's made a lot of investors good money if they bought cheap), and Chinese cars will take less than 10 years.
once upon a time I was told politely by a kind man: "the reason why people don't seem to be on your side is because your attitude is foul. Hyundai's are selling well now

Yeah, cuhs they shaped up.
Ughhhh, I remember my mom's friends old hyundai excel. You could feel every single rivet in the road, and there was no air conditioning. Never rode in there again. >:[

but yeah, they have to work their way up, because foreign cars start bad.
Toyota used to be super cheap, tin-can cars (that's what my mom calls them still. = =") that were really crappy, Hyundai/Kia were just as bad.
Now japanese cars sell very well, and Hyundai's starting to shape up.
I'm sure that in like ten, twenty years, the chinese cars might start to shape up, too. =/

Well, if they do perform big earnings within this product, they should use that money for R&D. Safety = #1
