I hope the replies in here are tastefully done. I didn't make this thread to start a ton of bashing.

As for me, I'm not really sure. I've fallen into a phase where I'm deeply immersing myself back into old school music.

The only thing I'm worried about is the teeny's on soompi getting all defensive when people say DBSG/other such boy bands aren't worth all their fame... because it's happened before.

I honestly don't get what all the hype over Lee Hyori and Bi are for. They may be good looking and have some charisma, but their vocal skills are not all that good.

not sure about actors.. but singers/groups I would say SG Wannabe, just cuz they are more about the voice than the looks and always sing live and sound great... then buzz, vibe, loveholic, see ya, monday kizz... I guess I go for all those that in every presentation they have, they sing live and never lipsynch...

BoA is worth all the fame she has. there's no other way to put it: the girl works hard. IMO she's the hardest working korean star because she just does so much it's almost mind boggling. admittedly, she's not the best singer, but the combination of her being able to dance at the level she does plus sing live at the same time is pretty impressive. at first i thought she was all hype, but after watching her japanese stuff i have to admit that she is a pretty okay singer and a good dancer and a really great performer. on top of that, she does CF's, the voice for the movie 'over the hedge' plus the movie's song, the SM Town album & video shoot/jacket shoot, a 6th korean album on the way, and flies back and forth between two countries to maintain her career. she basically lives and breathes the entertainment world to the point of exhaustion but she doesn't fail to deliver whenever she has to perform or make a public appearance. for all that work she definitely deserves her fame.

-Bada (seems to me she isnt famous. she should be more famous than the "top" singers of South Korea/Asia)
-FTTS (too bad they left SM)
-SES (too bad Eugene/YooJin got in more for her looks rather than her voice. Shoo's voice is good. Shouldn't have had to cancel her debut album 2-3 years ago)
-SG Wannabe (strong voices)
-Shinhwa (members are talented in their own right)
-Buzz (vocalist has great vocals. ties in with HwanHee)
-Brown Eyed Girls (too bad they're over shadowed by SeeYa. SeeYa ain't good at all IMO)
-Isak from ISAK N JIYEON (she sings better than JiYeon<===too much of JiYeon's voice = mental; a very SMALL amount = good)
-HOT (sang songs and etc about the community back then. seems like they really care about something important and all of those other things people tend to care more about; really lived up to their legend)
-DBSK (great when singing all together. Yunho isnt a very good singer.......... )

BoA, although she works her butt off, doesn't really have nice-sounding vocals. To me, her songs aren't good anymore. Her vocals NOW sound bland and tired/flat. It doesn't sound like it takes vocals to pull off her songs anymore (TOUCH, My Name sounds "blah") She's trying too much to look "mature". To me it doesn't fit her and look good on her. Whatever "mature"-looking clothes she wears, she still looks like a 16-year-old/teenager not a 20-year-old adult. Plus her music doesn't reflect the music/look she's trying to aim for. I still respect her for putting so much and trying VERY hard for her music though. She's better at dancing than singing IMO.

Bi doesn't have good vocals either but that's cause he has a throat problem or something. Yoon Eun Hye can't sing well; high pitch sounding vocals. Shim Eun Jin probably IS the best live singer out of Baby VOX, but she sounds better in a produced album/lipsync. Ivy (from what songs I heard from her) doesn't sound appealing just like Chae Yeon, Lee Hyori, etc. Oh and no comment on Jessica H.O. OH, and the girls in CSJH can't sing. (although they were really good in "Too Good"...)

Actors//Actresses. I don't think Yoon Eun Hye deserves all the fame she has now. Including when she was in babyvox. I mean yeah she's cute, Goong was a good drama, but she couldn't act a lot of the scenes out right in my opinion.

I think Bi deserves the fame. He's an amazing dancer.

BoA&Hyori; their dancing skills are awesome, but their vocal isnt that great.
But some of Boa's ballads give me chills. But I admire her for her dancing more than singing.

I agree with mango.baby.

Not only is Boa such a dedicated singer filled with so much determination. She opened many doors for korean singers to debut in Japan. She is one of those who leads the Hallyu wave, a good represenative of Korea, and she is one of the best performers out here. She debuted at 13 and look where she's gotten now at 20. She truly deserved everything that she has now. And I'm sure she has more to offer in the future. She deserves it all.

I also think Fly To the Sky are worthy of their fame. They are just fantastic.

^ Actually SES was the first to break into Japanese markets because of Shoo's knowledge of Japanese. They don't have credit for that. Only for Korean albums. And they also released three Korean albums of theirs in China. Overseas verisons I'm assuming.

Hero's voice are awesome... Xiah's is unique n even thou some of the other member's voices are not the best but they perfect when they sing together in acapella... That's y they called "group" cuz they SUPPOSE to sing together.. perform live 8/10 performances.. all slow songs r live.. Rising sun, Triangle r mostly lipsynch (althou done live before)

S.E.S- Bada the most .. her voice is just priceless (ultimate girl group)
Fly to the sky- I <3 their R&B.. they're what led me to the R&B world.. sing live just as good as record
H.O.T- i <3 Iyah (<3 both their version n dbsk version).. they lived up to their name "legend"

Song Hye Gyo- not just her looks but her acts felt surreal - some just assume that her fame came from her looks but a fact that many ppl know yet denying is IT TAKE MORE THAN JUST LOOKs

yeah they seem to be popular, i mean they are, but they are well-known for their LOOKS~ they are onli recognized as a boyband for their looks..mostly~

but for fans, well at least, who actually follow their music n stuff, do notice that they have talent in terms of vocals, and dance wise, even composing songs~

Voices - Hero and Junsu have amazing voices...even when they sing songs of other people, they have their own style~ The other 3 are also good..but Jaesu just has more skills~ but when they do accapella...they sound perfect~ they still go offtune sometimes and lispync dance songs~ but hey they're working on it..

If u guys go on youtube and watch Jaejoong's solo form their first korean concert..it's totally breathtaking...

Dance - i have to say hero, max, and micky arnt those ppl who we can say "GOOD" dancers..but Yunho and Xiah definitely are.but when DBSK perform as group..they are totally insync and looks good~ so i think thats fine~

Composing - they do compose songs, just never been released or not done...
i mean...they all can play piano..LoL...kinda irrelevant..anywayz
umm MICKY's song has just been released called "FOX RAIN"...its an AMAZING SONG~ tune, lyrics and the vocal compisition..its realli good!! also, considering it was Micky's first ever composed song~

Music - they have a wide range, and they're still kinda new so they havn't yet realli determined their type of music i guess
however, i do think their music is mature...ok..i cant support that

AND...DBSK members have also went through a lot to become singers...and they are realli determined...they realli concentrate and work hard on their Music..not so much on like appearing on shows or whatever....
Cuz hero said that he onli wants to focuz on his singing..and nothing else..so he didnt wanna go on game shows...
