Monitor and Mouse won't work

I know nothing about computers when it comes to the internal stuff which is why I'm here.

Ok, I recently bought more ram (512) and yes it's the right one for my computer and also bought thermal compound because my computer kept overheating. So I let my brother put the ram in and apply the thermal comound (between the processor core and heatsink). Everything went smooth till I turned on my computer ... the monitor won't work and same goes for the mouse. I've tried switching monitors but that didn't work and that's probaby the only thing I can come up with. Any ideas what's wrong?

I'd also like to add that the cooling fan isn't working ... the heatsink fan works but not the cooling fan any ideas why?

How is the monitor and mouse not working? Like when you turn it on, nothing appears?

yup ... the monitor just stays in sleep mode and the mouse just won't work, the light on the mouse doesn't even light up same goes for keyboard.

ok lets see....try removing the ram and the thermal compound if u can ....

THIS IS ONLY A GUESS, but don't when you install a monitor you have to install some software in it? OR it's a possibility the color is turned off. Look at your monitor and see if there are any switches or anything that changes the color. It's possible the color is turned off or something. O_O.

software is optional...but if the mouse didn't light up?....what would messing with the color on the monitor do... o0?

Haahha I don't know. Sometimes when I turn on my computer the screen is blank, and then I realize my little sister has been messing with those little toggles that make your screen brighter or darker.
