I'm just wondering, what makes you motivated in school? or like.. what makes you want to go to university, and graduate?
I'm asking this question out of my curiosity. Somebody asked me this question before, and I was like.. i don't know.. to make my parents happy? or for a foundation of my future career?
So, what actually makes you motivated to go to university, and also to graduate from it?

But what keeps me motivated to go to class and make the grades? Might as well learn something while you're there so it won't be a complete waste of time. If you have a degree, you better be able to show something for it than just a stupid slip of paper.

All of my relatives in Seoul live a rather lavish life(in spite of earning it by all they could muster with determination and strong work ethics) and my parents had the the opportunity to have their share of a better quality of life by remaining in their respective country, but decided to make a gamble with hopes that more opportunities would be presented to them and their soon to be born children across the waters. Instead, they found themselves being dealt a bad hand, and there are times where they feel resentment towards their decision to come to this country. Their degrees from prestigious universities and all they worked towards went down the drain as a result of some major risk taking and delusions of the grand old American dream.
We're more in the middle of the socioeconomical ladder, but my parents have had struggles and are still working their fingers to the bone to allow us to have a higher education and to support other miscellaneous costs of our extracurricular activities. They've basically sacrificed everything including their own personal lives, for the sake of my brother and I, so it motivates me to give everything that I have in order for their sacrifices to be worthwhile.
As for personal reasons, seeing that I'm competitive by nature, I like to be on top of things. Also, in addition to that, with the dwindling state of the economy, I'm determined to at least have career stability. Just one less thing to worry about.
