Mozilla is a company that makes a variety of free open-source software, which includes FireFox. FireFox comes with tabbed browsing (very useful feature), the ability to download and use powerful extensions (like blocking advertisements and speeding up your browsing), integrated RSS feeds reader, themes, and much more. All packed in a simple, friendly, and clean user interface.
The tabbed browsing is one of the top features in FireFox, since it makes surfing on the Internet a lot more efficient. Internet Explorer currently lacks many of the features that FireFox boasts. However, Microsoft has released a beta version of Internet Explorer 7, which showcases many of the features that FireFox currently has.
I would highly recommend getting FireFox over Internet Explorer at the moment. But even when Internet Explorer 7 comes out, I have doubts about going back to using IE.

Mozilla Firefox & IE are both browsers, basically programs to view web pages with. I recommend Mozilla, but the thing about IE is that you can do all sorts of cool effects with your webpages with it, while in Mozilla it doesn't show up.

uh this doesnt really have anything to do with the subject,
but i need to ask a question.
i use AOL explorer && i think it makes my comp. slower.
the screen takes i little while longer to come up,
but i dont know if that's bc my comp. has a lot of programs,
or its just AOL. ><
help?

Mozilla makes Firefox, IE is built into windows. If you want to be diverse, Opera is also an option.
Firefox is free and was made by people. If you were a programmer, you could download the source code and reprogram it to be YOUR browser!
As many mentioned, firefox is safer. It doesn't support ActiveX so things like Clubbox won't run but its in many ways good because ActiveX is the #1 way spyware gets into your computer and you know thats just not fun.
A LOT of people don't liek firefox because it just feels different but I think its worth getting used to. The other thing people don't like is sometimes it treats web pages differently... but if thats the case just open it in IE right?
SO install it, try it... if you don't like it just uninstall it right?

not to be sour but there are tons of IE vs. Firefox if you google it. I highly recommend you use firefox for daily stuff, and if you need IE it will always be there. Firefox has tons of extention which IE cant even match.

Okay, Open up AOL Browser and look at random webpages. Then Press CTRL + ALT + Delete, click on the processes tab, and look for something that says 'aolexplorer.exe' or something like that. Check the Memory Usage, and if it's a lot, it probably does make your computer slower. If it's a low number, i don't know.
