Yeah, I bought a new desktop mic a few days ago, and it worked fine for the first day or so...but the next day, I tried recording, and all this static back ground noise started coming up.I know for sure it's not the environment, because where I record is pretty quiet, but there's this constant monotone buzzing in the background. What happened to my mic?
I know how to get rid of the noise when editing...but high levels of noise removal can distort the clip, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix my mic?

lower the recording volume of the mic. Turn off the 20db+ microphone boost if you have it on. Perhaps don't put the microphone so close to either your monitor or your speakers if they're not shielded. You could be receiving EMI interference from any of those things or there may be other things around your room/adjacent rooms causing EMI interference to be picked up by your mic as well. Like TVs and other electronic appliances like that.
