what kinda car is it? how much is your loan and what's the interest rate you got?
do you guys go through the car dealer finance dept or like regular banks or credit unions or what?

Most dealers make their money on finances, and if you get someone else to do a loan, they'll try to jip you on the price of the car, or options.

I got a good deal through a military credit union since I'm a member. I only have to pay 1.9% (for 3 years). Borrowed close to 10k.
TJP, that I like.

yup when we went to toyota to take a look at the sienna, the finance rate was 3.9% which is freakin good nowadays

but we ended up with a honda odyssey fully loaded EX-L. we didnt get the touring because of the PAX tire system. anyways our current financing rate is at 6.8% or something around there via Valley National bank

If you're part of a credit union, try to get a quote on a car loan. They tend to have great rates. As for dealership financing, it can depend on the car but if you have good credit, it should be in the 4-6% range I think. Don't go any higher than 7% if your credit is flawless.

I had a question about buying cars....

lets say an acura integra costs 15k (USED)

i put down 3k

then the interest(called APR) is added to the 12k? (Do i go to a bank for this? What are their requirements for taking out loans? Job? co-sign? credit? etc?)

the APR should be between 4-7 % right? (im pretty sure i have some spankn credit).

I need help with this, I think my parents are pretty much through taking care of me and want me to go do my own life now (20 years old). I decided to make a new deal with my pops (between paying off school loans and a car) and I decided to buy my own car. There goes the saab =/

Thnx in advance.

are u buying this integra from a dealer or private? the APR rate depends on what u use to finance. I know if u finance through our insurance company its like 4.25% or somethign.. pretty low.. u should try going into a bank and stuff.. i dont know cuz when we bought our first car i was a youngin' so i didnt care, but when we recently went to get our odyssey, the sales guy talked to the manager and got us rates and stuff.. and we just picked the lowest one =P so yea. im sure peoplelike qwk can help since he's bought plenty of cars haha

Whats the difference if I buy from an independant owner or if I buy from a dealership? Dealership... I go through dealership financing and if I buy from an independant owner, I have to go to a bank?

well yeah, if you buy from a private owner, the person will want the car paid in full, so you will have to take out a bank loan or loans.

500 would include insurance and the car payment and whatever else is needed.
whatever is left i just tell her to keep or use afterall she is my mom lol ^-^

scion would be my first car so I thought it would be better than buying a 350z =_=;;
most of you would probably think i'm retarded for choosing a scion over a 350z
