i went out for july 4th and came back around midnight
couldn't sleep till a couple of min before 2 (summer school the next day too)
then BAM! i tried screaming but i couldn't make a sound
in the hmong culture i guess we say that we are getting sat on by a ghost
scary stuff eh?
will i don't really know what to do cause i only had it once(cried my eyes out after that too)
SCARY x_x
but like someone said before a knife under your bed
but dont do that either cause my cousin use to get it too and her mom told her to put a knife under her pillow and she did and one night she woke up with the lid off and it poking her x_x
not sleeping on your back would help too
but sometimes (if its a ghost) i heard that i could push you onto your back
or this one guy i know when his cousin sleeps over or the other way around his cousin puts his leg under his and once he fells pressure he'll wake up and wake up his cousin (cause that ment that he was getting sat on)
i don't know if this helps but i started cussing and it (the ghost) and after about 2 min it let me go ( i knew i was getting sat on)

They say that if you are under a lot of stress or something, ur hormones or w.e. get all out of wack, causing the sleep paralysis. The first time it happend to me, I think it was during the summer or spring, and I was def. not going through any terrible stress during that time. I remember my head was to the side and I thought i was dreaming...but the dream was of me in my room and everything was so real so I wasnt sure. I tried turning my head to the side, and i was stuck. I remember I couldnt move at all, so I thought if i just go back to sleep then it'd go awy.
Then I never got this paralysis again until fall. At this point, I was going through a lot of stress in my life and the sleep paralysis would start to become a daily thing. I used to get so pissed off at it cuz I knew "it" was always gonna come, when i felt this shocking tingle feeling down my legs. About the whole "cussing thing". One time i got really pissed and I started swearing at "it" or just swearing randomly across my room, and my room turned ICE COLD. I grabbed an extra blanket and rosary. I couldnt finish reciting the rosay cuz my voice was shaking that badly. I've never shook that much in my life. It was bad to the point where I yelled for my dad to help me and he put his hand on my leg and asked why was I shaking so much for.
My parents would try everything, they were close to contacting a spiritual person once. nothing would really work. but then they placed a pair of scissors right next to where i slept, and also a sewing needle. and that helped for a while. the paralysis never happened again. until one day, i felt it again and i woke up the next morning, and the scissors/needle was gone. so i asked my mom, and she said that she took it away cuz she thought that it was gone. needless to say, I placed the scissors/needle back and havent moved it to this day cuz I dont want to go through that whole thing again.

From my experience, stress causes this, and laying in awkward/weird positions contributes to this happening more often.

That's so scary, I've experienced it once... Where I wanted to wake up, get up, but I just couldn't! It was scary 0_0
And after reading all these experiences, its more freaky.

I don't think it can be qualified as hallucination?
I've experienced the scissorlock thing many times in my life, I don't really " see " the dark shadow per se, but I know exactly what others are talking about. This is how it happened to me peronally..
I'm lying there in my bed, my mind's awake, my body still asleep *assuming since I'm not able to move any body parts but maybe my head), I'm fully aware of my surroundings, I mean I see my nightstand, the door, chairs etc etc things in my room, then usually, you get this feel that something aka a dark force/shadow is coming over you, for me, it usually feels like it's crawling under my sheets, from my feet and slowly coming up to my face, the feeling of fear and suffocation at that point gets overwhelming. I'm screaming but of course, no sound's coming out. then usually just when I thought that THING is going to reveal itself infront of my face. I snap out of it.
*shivers*

like after awhile you don't care anymore, you are just ike "urgh go away"
-sleep on your side
-DON'T SLEEP WITH YOUR ARMS OVER YOUR CHEST! that seemed to be the major problem I had. I used to sleep in an upright position with my hands over my chest so I would feel protected or something. I stopped doing that and only had one sleep paralysis since then (been a year or 2)
