OK. That's scary. But i've only had it ONCE.. and it was the scariest feeling ever. I sleep w/ my little sister and i was wide awake, but all of a sudden i couldn't move my arms or anything at all. I could hear myself gasping out my sister's name. But nothing happens.. it lasted for probably 10 seconds or so... then i took a deep breath once it cleared..
I find it so scary and try to sleep on my side often now.. but that happened like, years ago. Thank goodness i didn't get any images before me >_< ..

Oh my! I have the same exact thing that happened to me.. but recently it started occuring a lot. When I try to explain to my brother, he does not understand...neither does my friends...because they never experience such things. I'm happy that somebody know what I'm trying to say. So far I have 4-5 already... and I do not even want it to happen to me again!


The 2nd one I had, I saw my bedroom and my body on the bed...and my soul is like trapped inside...I try to move...scream....nothing work...and there on my poster..i saw a shadow shaped like a spear...and when i finally can move my hand...the shadow of my hand was holding a axe/hammer!!!! The weird part is that I heard my brother in the background playing on the labtop! When I woke up and went to his room..he was really on the labtop! I do not think I was dreaming... maybe half awake...

i dunno, i used to get this alot a few years ago, but i started sleeping on my side and it kinda went away

my mother told me it was 'a stray ghost sitting on the chest' weighing you down, therefore you cant move

well what my psychology teacher said is that you should try to enjoy it. because it goes away and its not harmful in anyway, well probalby mentally. but to try to enjoy it. and it takes like 5 minutes to have the effect to disappear.

This thread is pretty scary. Anyways, I got it once or twice and it was the freakiest thing. I remember being really scared and not being able to move. Well, I guess you're used to it now, right? I heard if you try really hard to move your thumb, it goes away. Eh, not sure.

my sister and I have this =( .. I HATE that feeling. My sister has it worse though. She actually sees shadows on top of her and hears whispers and laughing. I heard that if you put a knife under the mattress it will stop. I have no clue if it works or not. In vietnamese this is called "ma de" or something... basically it means a ghost constricting you (I think) but yeah.. scary stuff O_O

thats exactly what i do when i get it...i start praying cause i get so freaked out when i see the dark shadows...and i mean..it could be a ghost or demon whatever u want to call it cause i mean....almost everyone is seeing these dark shadows....im a christian also and i do think that u get it when ur really tired..but also when ur spiritually or mentally weak...

ive had crazy sleep paralysis.....once i was sleeping in my room on my back and i was caught in it....i saw this shadow at the foot of my bed and then i felt something pushing up on me....i started praying like crazy and told it to go away in Jesus' name...and then i could feel it peeling off my body..it was disgusting....like grac_3 says...u can't just use that phrase tho...u truly have to believe...

this oppa that i know had one also...i dont know if u can call it sleep paralysis....but heres wat happened...he was sleeping in is room and he got caught in it...he saw a shadow at the end of the bed..and then he felt it get under the covers and crawl up towards his face until the ghost was up to his face...after that he said he woke up...but in the morning...he had these little bruises under his eyes...they looked like little petals...i remember seeing him that day cause it was sunday...the pastor made him pray like crazy that day...lol...

i think its funny how people think Its just sleep paralysis. Im glad you agree with me .^^

but i believe that when you have paralysis you cant think about the demons laying on top of you. its kinda silly.

also scientists have theory that it is demons/ghosts. [i googled it] but Just dont be scared.

I had it twice before and it's hecka scary! In chinese we call it a ghost sitting on you? I don't the translation comes out all weird and stuff. But yeah, it freaked me out the first time, but I knew about it cause my brother told me before that it happend to him. I saw shadows moving and then I heard voices and it was really weird.

ahh. what the heck. i heard my friends talk about "gawee" thing before but i was like oh it never happened to me. then last night it' HAPPENED !!!!. it was hecka freeky too.

I thought i was just dreaming until my friend told me it was gawee. well i was laying on my bed and all of a sudden this hand was just reaching for me and grabbing me, then i tried to move, but i couldn't at all. i just tried my hardest to move and finally i just tried punching with my arm and i could move again. then i felt around and the hand was gone, but i still felt something there so i reached and something was on top of me and my blanket, i don't remmeber what it was. then it happened again a little while later, that night. it's so weirdd cuz i knew that it was a geishen , cuz i could feel the presence. kind of scary stuff.

omg that always happens to my brother when he sleeps late, its super scary!! i hear him screaming in the middle of the night. saids he sees a dark figure squatting next to him. and another time, he felt it grabbing onto his neck i heard something about trying to move one of your joints (liek a finger) its' kinda hard to do that tho, you have to concreate really hard. then and it'll go away. also, the sleeping on the side works too.

oh i also heard if you can't get out of it, you might be paralzyed for life o.o or it'll keep coming back. AHHH scary ><

It happens to me at least once a week. Ever since I saw my grandma's ghost/spirit coming to me after her death. Sometimes in the middle of the night, I get sleep paralysis and I feel things watching me. I hear screaming alot too.

I know its going to happen before it does, so I close my eyes to avoid seeing anything that will scare me. I pray the hail mary in my mind until its over.

It' really scary. Usually it's when I lie on my back and sleep. I panic and sometimes I feel like I can't breathe so I just try to move my arms and legs. Takes me a long time to wake myself up. Freaky stuff.

i've had it happen three times to me.

the first time i went on the giant drop at dreamworld n that night when i slept,
i saw myself sleeping & this black shadow was next to me!! & he was talking to me .......

AHH second time, this old grandma was next to me & said i was a bad person ..
i try to be good now...

&& my guy friend got 'raped' by a male ghost LOLS, we always bag him out =]

When it happened to me I was sleeping on my side.
So I got confused and didnt know whether to sleep on my back or side :S lol

Happened to me sometimes xD It was scary, but I got pissed off after a while ; Coz something was poking me and I wanted to hit it but I couldn't coz I couldn't move, and there were stupid things screeching in my ears and then I saw shadows hopping around in the background D: Ok, I'm rambling... o.o;

Maybe cause I've been sleeping on my sides since forever. LOL.
But some people slept on their sides & still experience it?
I don't know about that. Heh.
