Director Ang Lee has found the two stars for his follow-up to "Brokeback Mountain."
Tony Leung and film newcomer Tang Wei have landed lead roles in the World War II espionage thriller "Lust, Caution," which is set up at Focus Features.
Leung stars as a powerful Shanghai politician who becomes entangled with a young woman (Tang). Chinese pop idol and actor Wang Lee Hom also has been cast, as a student involved with the woman. In the short story written by the late Chinese author Eileen Chang, a main character tries to seduce and assassinate a Chinese spy working for the Japanese government.
Leung has gained international stardom in such films as Wong Kar-wai's "In the Mood for Love" and Zhang Yimou's "Hero." Wei has appeared in stage and screen performances.
"It's exciting for me to be making a movie in China again and to finally be working with Tony Leung on a project," Lee said. "Tang Wei has already shown such versatility in her early work."

"Ang Lee's newest movie, "Lust Caution" has so far been shrouded in mystery. Recently however, his assistant David Lee revealed that Tony Leung, Tang Wei, and Wang Leehom will be part of the film. Tony and Tang will play the leading male and female roles respectively. This movie marks Ang Lee's first new movie after his Oscar-winning "Brokeback Mountain"
Tang Wei is a newcomer from Mainland. She earned the position despite rumors that Zhang Ziyi, Liu Yifei, Shu-Qi and the likes were to take her role. She is a 27 and is already a rising star in mainland China, having starred on stage and television. She recently gave an award-winning performance in the telefilm Jinghua Swallow.

44-year old Tony Leung is a familiar household name, who won best actor at Cannes for ``In the Mood for Love'' in 2000. A native of Hong Kong, he has been one of Asia's top stars for nearly two decades. He has starred in several memorable films for directors Wong Kar-wai and John Woo, and in such smash hits as Hero and Infernal Affairs.

Wang Leehom, 30, is a Taiwan based singer, who is a renowned producer, composer, and songwriter. He won the Taiwanese Grammies for best producer in 1999 and 2004 along with Best Male artist in 1999 and 2006. He is a native New-Yorker and attended one of the best Liberal Arts Schools in the United States, the prestigious Williams College and earned a Masters Degree at top-notch "Julliard-Rival" Berkelee School of Music.
"Lust Caution" is adapted from a 26-page short story by the late Chinese author Eileen Chang. Wang Jiazhi (Tang Wei), a young woman who gets swept up in a dangerous game of emotional intrigue with Mr. Yi (Tony Leung). She seduces him into an assasination plan against the Japanese backed government of World War II. Things complicate as Kuang Yu Min (Wang Leehom), a young student who is romantically involved with Wang Jiazhi (Tang Wei) becomes entangled in matters.
Ang Lee's assistant David Lee said that filming is expected to start in September and will take place in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Malaysia, adding that isn't clear how long filming will take.
