^^ Can you elaborate? Thanks.

basically some games, like Castlevania POR, or FFIII worked on the M3 lite, but didn't work on the m3 simply. Of course I know you have to use the raw dump instead of those that run through game manager like on the m3 lite.. but it still didn't work. well it doesn't matter, I just obtained another dump and they all work perfectly now.

is it safe to buy those cards (M3?) and download games into it for the DS?
and is it hard to use? or do you just drop files in it and then you can run it on the DS?

^It's pretty safe. I've had my R4DS for a few weeks and it's been awesome. It's really easy to use. The instruction manual for the R4 was just a page long. Once you copy a few files on your microSD card, it's all drag and drop from there.

So... Like ptoor asked, how do you convert the videos to watch on the DS? I'm sure .avi won't work?

DPG, have to convert it to that format.

256*192 res @ wtvr bitrate you find decent enough on vid/audio.

Stardust, depends on which card you're using. Some require fooling around w/the settings for specific games and some have features that aren't in other cards. (GBA support, blah blah)

Drag and drop doesn't always work haha.

Could you possibly direct me to a converter that you recommend? I tried googling for one the other day, and I came up empty handed.

BatchDPG is what I use. I didn't try it since they updated the app + moonshell & media extend; dunno if they fixed some of the problems w/the conversion.

^ I'm going to try Hotel Dusk in a bit. I watched a little of the intro yesterday. Holding the DS that way feels so weird...

M3 is the same as the R4? I have the R4 and so far so good. Every game seems to run on it fine. The only thing that I can't get working is the mp3 and video function. I'm not sure how to convert the files to whatever the file type is that it requires ._____."

I'm having fun with Animal Crossing atm. Except I have no idea how to connect to friend's ._____."

Well, mp3's should work fine on the R4. You don't have to convert to anything else. For videos you have to convert .avi mpeg or whatever to dpg. I'm using the program that was on the CD, dpgenc.

just picked up an black ds lite today. took me a while to actually find one, and when i got there they had 2 black and 2 pink so i got both of the black ones. really enjoying mario kart, it brings back memories of the snes days.

anyway, ive added most of you with mariokart friend codes posted, but im not exactly sure how this works. shouldnt there be a list that shows which friends are online and available to play? it doesnt seem to do that. it appears that who you play is random whether you play friends, worldwide, regional, etc.

hope to get better and take on some of you who im sure are experts (was a little cocky until i played online and got schooled).

DS online system is kinda crappy. Both you and you friend have to add each other, and then arrange outside of the DS when to meet online. theres no lobby system. which kinda sucks.

Mario kart multiplayer is really fun. get a bunch of friends in a room together, i think thats the way to go.

Hotel Dusk is really good. I'm on chapter 10 right now. the art and style is nice. and holding DS sideways is neat. So far the puzzles aren't very challenging, but the experience is unique.

yes, but you need extra stuff for it
there's the japanese opera browser
and if you're into homebrews, there's DS AIM, but you need a flash cart to use the homebrews on the DS.
