for the r4, how do you change the themes to the background that you want?? i just got my r4 and i'm clueless about it.

^You need to create bitmap images of 256 x 192 named icon (for the icon menu), logo (top screen at main menu), bckgrd_1 (for the top of the game menu), bckgrd_2 (bottom screen of game menu). These replace the theme files in your _system_ folder. There's more info on the R4 website.

I only have POkemon diamond right now, hopefully I can try to find out how to connect with wifi soon... All you need is a wireless modem right? or do we have to buy the extra wifi usb thing? .__.

and for the R4/M3 cartridge, can we only get it online? cos i don't really want to buy from any other sites .__.

Yeah, all you need is wireless and it should connect. Yeah also to the R4, it's only available online. But oh so worth it. I just got my R4 on friday and i can finally play Ouendan

does the R4 support SanDisk 8GB microSD High Capacity?? or any HC microSD at all? I want to have more than 2GB.. is it possible? This is what I read on Wiki "Using a 4 GB MicroSD is possible, however it will be unstable." >___<

there are a bunch, but I used dealextreme.com which points to volumerate.com as the source for the r4, I've bought from them before and they even use paypal so they aren't scam but maaann, the deals seem way too good to be true and free shipping!!, I'm not tryin to advertise anything, just tryin to help out~
I highly recommend this store, but right now they're having a supposed 'shortage' probably gonna rack up the prices to like 50 bucks or a 100 ugh, just gotta wait it out I guess

i want to download a LOT of them at once, how should i go about this?

and if you prefer batch/torrent downloading you can
-go to the M3 DS Simply Compatibility List
-search for the games you want (ctrl+f)
-keep the compatible game #s in mind
-go to your favorite torrent downloads place (isohunt, meganova, etc)
-search under the name of game with or without "NDS" (the games are in .nds format)
-select what you want to download of the batches (if you have utorrent, you can check off the ones you want to d/l instead of waiting an hour downloading everything ^^;;; )

it's a long to-do list, but it's pretty simple =D

ok, i got it, but HOW does this drag-drop thing work?
here's my tutorial from the older R4 (but should work the same)

^take your transflash card out of its adapter and plug it into the card reader (that comes with your R4) and follow these instructions:

the game files should be .nds
<DIR> is the directory/folder.

if R4s are universal, then press select until you can see games on your screen.

what you should have in your mini sd card:

_system_ [folder], _DS_MENU [DAT], [at least one game]

say i want to play lunar: dragon song.

i put it in the mini in its sd card and load up the ds. after you select the game button (with the pac man) you might get a buncha files

from that top screen, all the files are shown. there are 26. i dont have 26 games btw, i have the save files in there too .

in the windows screen in my first screenshot, the moonshl and the _system_ files were folders remember? the folders have a <dir> filename. in the tutorial you might've seen, the user probably had the games under a folder. (F:\lunar - dragon song\lunar - dragon song.nds maybe?) i'm not a computer pro, but that's what i can assume.
the games will be in nds.

press SELECT until the type of files that are shown are all games

then just scroll down your game and play.
it'll ask you to make a sav file before playing. say YES.

the R4 has other capabilities such as playing music and videos. how does moonshell work?

I want to play GBA games too!!

The CycloDS Evolution was $54 plus shipping. It also has DLDI driver so the homebrews work just fine.
Another thing I like is that the games that don't have working download play can and have been fixed them with firmware upgrades. Also, I love that SD/SDHC (forward/backward) compatibility.

i must note: from going 50+ pages back, i keep seeing aaandy bringing up the cycloDS everytime someone complains their local-game networking doesnt work . most games for the R4/M3 do not work for local multiplayer mode

how does your thumb hurt from playing phantom hourglass? you use the stylus the entire time besides using the subweapons. maybe you're playing weird. or maybe you're holding the ds weird? i dunno. i played it all the way through and i felt fine.

yeah I dunno what it was really, all I know is that I feel fine playing phantom hourglass now, I think my thumb just had to get used to it or something ..
But I gotta say that Phantom Hourglass is extremely addicting ..

I also got a phantom hourglass metal case for christmas, I like it , though my friends have smaller cases, it's kinda big but ohwell.. My twinsister and I also got the Rayman DS game and my twin the Super Monkey Ball DS game (yeah my twinsister borrows my DS).. Anyway, the Super Monkey Ball game is really hard, just frustrating hard .. Anyone tried that game before?

does r4 support tales of innocence yet? the cyclods sure havent , why does everyone want a r4? :x it doesn't support sdhc and the gui is ugly :x, the m3 ds real(new) is great + supports sdhc + comes with a rumble pack:p, tho i got a cyclo ds , which cost twice as much as a r4 :0, it looks great and all but the quality is horrible ahaha theres more defectives then r4s . anyone else got a cyclo ds? :x
