I was wondering if I buy a DS lite console either in Japan or Korea can I change the language option to english? Is it region locked?

DS Lite isn't region-locked. I bought mine in Hong Kong & set the language to English and everything works fine!

The DSi, on the other hand, is region-locked

River King is supposedly a pretty similar game to Harvest Moon and Rune Factory. I haven't tried it though, but my little sister is 10 and she says it's pretty good.

Oh i remenber playing that game in my game boy color haha!
Although i remenber that game involved fishing , or if i recall was mainly fishing thats why i didnt quite enjoyed it compared to harvest moon back on the old days .

^For Animal Crossing you can visit other people's towns if you add their codes to your list. IDK what it does for Mario Kart, but you probably race against them.

^ You need to use a microSD card, not a mini SD one. Very important size difference between the two.
