The Beginning...

BATMAN BEGINS (2005)

A new restart of the "Batman" franchise under the helm of "Memento" Director Chris Nolan and more in tone with the early "Batman: Year One" style comics. As a boy a young Bruce Wayne watched in horror as his millionaire parents were slain in front of his eyes, a trauma which led him to become obsessed with revenge but his chance is cruelly taken away from him by fate. After disappearing to the East where he seeks counsel with the dangerous but honorable ninja cult leader known as Ra's Al-Ghul, he returns to his now decaying Gotham City overrun by organised crime and dangerous individuals manipulating the system whilst the company he inherited is slowly being pulled out from under him. The discovery of a cave under his mansion, and a prototype armoured suit leads him to take on a new persona, one which will strike fear into the hearts of men who do wrong - he becomes, Batman. In the new guise, and with the help of rising cop Jim Gordon, Batman sets out to take down the various nefarious schemes in motion by individuals such as mafia don Falcone, the twisted doctor/drug dealer Jonathan 'The Scarecrow' Crane, and a mysterious third party that is quite familiar with Wayne and waiting to strike when the time is right.

Batman Begins Sequel - New Villain: Justin Timberlake??



Justin Timberlake has been tipped to play the next 'Batman' villain.

The pop heartthrob, who is currently pursuing a Hollywood acting career, is reportedly favourite to play evil Two-Face in the follow-up movie to 'Batman Begins', which stars Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader.

A source revealed: "Justin would be a perfect choice. He is getting more and more into a film career alongside his music one."

Despite his clean-cut image, the former boyband star has already proved he can play dark characters - by his portrayal of a foul-mouthed drug dealer in the upcoming movie 'Alpha Dog'.

The film - which also stars Bruce Willis and Sharon Stone - is based on the true life story of drug dealer Jesse James Hollywood, who was suspected of kidnapping and killing a 15-year-old boy in 2000.

Justin plays Hollywood's pot-selling friend Frankie Ballenbacher.

The singer, who is romancing Hollywood beauty Cameron Diaz, won the role after impressing movie bosses with his film debut, 'Edison', in which he plays a young journalist who helps uncover corruption in a specialised police squad.

Heath Ledger as the joker? But he's too.. hot.

I thought I heard Willem Dafoe was in the running. Maybe they didn't want him because he played The Green Goblin in the Spider-man films though. I think he would've been good. Out of the actors you named, Hugo Weaving would make an AWESOME joker. Mark Hamill wouldn't be so bad either. But Johnny Depp? Jude Law? They're too hot as well lol.

Now for.. Justin Timberlake as two face. I'm sorry, he could have potential as an actor and all, but I do NOT want to see any boyband members playing such famous roles. >_< And Jake Gyllenhaal is too hot!

I loved Begins, I've seen it so many times lol. First of all, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are two of my favorite actors of all time. Then Christian Bale made the perfect Batman for this film (imo). And you know, Christopher Nolan as director.

I wish all superhero films would have such talented directors as Nolan. I mean, Superman and the first 2 X-Men movies had Bryan Singer, and the Spider-man movies has Sam Raimi. <3 But then again Ang Lee did the Hulk lol.

I'm so looking forward to these sequels. <333333333

I'm really, really looking forward to the sequels too. And I thought Christian Bale was great as Batman.

As for Joker, no one, NO ONE, could ever be as good a choice as Jack Nicholson was in Burton's first Batman film. Seriously. But Justin Timberlake playing Joker is just a terrible idea, he can act if he wants to, but he must stay the hell away from any movies I'll want to be seeing!

I seriously hope that offered doesn't mean that he's accepted the role. He hasn't shown anything noteworthy in his career and playing the Joker will be some tough shoes to fill. From what I understand, The Joker will go on trial in Batman 2 and will not be the main villian until 3. That was initially the plan after wrapping up Batman Begins and I do hope they stick to it. Also after having read a bunch of Batman graphic novels, I should hope Warner will be brave enough to allow a R rating for whichever Batman flick the Joker will appear in. I was hoping on Paul Bettany taking the role as the Joker but we'll just have to see, seriously hoping Ledger is just speculation.

The problem w/Bettany is that most of his recent roles have been the same ol' stuff; DVC, Firewall come to mind.

Brody has the look but the emotion he portrays doesn't do The Joker justice. Timberlake wasn't that bad in his debut (Edison) it's just that the movie was complete rubbish, I just don't see him pulling off a convincing Two-face at the moment.
