The question to ask is: are you fashion cautious & care less about the superiority of photo quality, but prefer to buy it just for a typical point & shoot to capture random moments in life, w/out much of a concern for great photo quality? biggrin.gif Or, as I've mentioned, do you want these captured memories in the most superior of quality. Or scratch all that, and do you actually prefer to consider both "look & great image quality"? biggrin.gif

Lol... sorry I went to ?-ny there, lol. But seriously..., if you want to take photography seriously, I say you don't get those thin lil cheesy point & shoots, & go for something just a LIL more serious. biggrin.gif If not, then you should definitely consider some Canon Powershots & such for looks & good quality, nothing superior, but mediocre. biggrin.gif I think Sonys are pretty good, as well as Nikons? biggrin.gif Check out DCResource for some reviews, if ya like ~shortyfrutie77~. smile.gif

I made a mistake a year ago going for these nice slick itty bitty point & shoots & paid a heapton for it too... to soon after realize the great limits it has... I just didn't want you to make the same mistake I did, incase you do take photography seriously, ~shortyfrutie77~. But I wish ya luck! biggrin.gif

... why in the world would u get a
samsung? or even a sony? (sony isnt that bad; but i dont like them)

samsung's image quailty sucks.
and if u want to get a camera get either
a canon or nikon, or just research yourself and
see what camera has like the best reviews and such.

but if u had to choose between the samsung or the sony; i would pick the sony.

If you like thin (ultra slim) camera, I would recommend the Canon SD series. The 5 mp camera with 3x optical zoom, SD400 and 450 is around $200-$250. They take very nice picture.

I had this one in mind to recommend to you as well. biggrin.gif But I'm not too certain about the pricetag; what's your budget limit? biggrin.gif

Awww, no problemo! I just hope you'll find what suits ya best! You & I have the same preference, & I particularly won't settle for anything less. biggrin.gif Looks & performance both matters to me. And I'm glad you took it seriously, so you should definitely get one of those Canon SDs (like the Canon SD450) b/c they not only look purdie (IMO, lol), they are quite beautiful in quality. biggrin.gif Good luck! biggrin.gif

I completely agree.

I had the sony P10 and I thought it was a decent camera... until I used the canon brand. Canon is so much superior than any other point and shoots.
My friend also has the Sony t7 and although it's really slim and sleek looking, the usefullness of the camera is TERRIBLE.

you could get a Canon SD630 or less than $300 these days.
I have the Canon SD400 and I adore it.
If you are on a tight budget, I would suggest getting the SD450 the zoom is MUCH more better than the SD400.

I would get a canon because:
1) great picture quality and pictures come out less blurry if shaken than sony cameras
2) Superb functions on camera itself. Color swaping, accenting, etc.
3) GREAT software. Bundled with awesome editting software that's very simple to use

Hope this helps!

thank u all so much!!!!!!!!!!!

i think i may get a canon instead..

u see i already have a camera but my sis took it to college and now i want one for myself. and that one is a canon..

i really like it but it's just that it doesn't have that many functions...

like i wouldn't mind funframes.. and i want a camera that has a lot of options such as.. black&white, sepia, and so on and so forth
