hey guys, im going to be a senior this fall and i really want to get into an art college .. but.. im really clueless when it comes to college info. .
so if you guys are in art schools, or will be attending them,
are the SATS really important? because im horrible at standardized tests and i havent been concentrating on SAt studying..
my GPA is pretty good, my extracurrics are good, im working on my portfolio.. so is that enough or should i start going crazy for SATs too?
thanks in advance.. and if u hav any other info to share about art schools, that would be GREAT..
im planning on going to an art school in new york.. hopefully parsons.. but not sure if that will happen

wow, I didn't know any other art schoolers existed besides me on soompi.
GPA counts a little but it's not that big of a deal. Same with SATs, just do average and you'll be fine.
What they want to see is your passion for art. Show them your sketches, make a portfolio of your best work.
Draw from life, draw people, and try to have a variety of styles. Don't stick to just one medium and be well rounded (paint, draw, digital)
In other words, just make lots of very good art and show them that your awesome. =)

This should be in the Pre-College forum just to let you know. ^^
And I read in my SAT study book that Liberal colleges don't look at the SAT as much as big schools.
SAT and GPA in a liberal art college count for roughly 50% of the acceptance process.
The Personal stuff and Portfolia are usually the most important stuff.
But I'm not 100% sure so talk to your guidance counselor when you have time.

im planning to go to an art college too ^^ but im only a freshmen haha. Planning to major in graphic/animation ..but i dont know anything about art colleges haha
