ok... my integrated sound card f'ed up and the sound comes out only on the left side of the speaker. i know for sure its not the speaker because ive tried it with two different sets of speakers and both of them didnt work on the right side. to solve this problem, i got a audio vortex sound card from my friend and i installed it to my computer. this was supposed to be a simple install-n-update but it didnt turn out like that. i installed the sound card to my computer, disabled my integ sound card from bios and when i got to my desktop, the computer noticed the new hardware but it needed a driver update. however, when i checked online, the driver that was already installed to the computer was the most up to date driver, but my computer kept telling me to upgrade. to solve this problem, i uninstalled the whole sound card from the computer and i reinstalled it. that solved the current problem. but when i tried to test it out on my cs and dod, my computer froze after like 10-minutes of play and i had to manually shut down the computer. the freezing of my computer occured twice. so i detached the sound card from my computer and i reinstalled everything: sound card, and driver. after i did that, my computer wouldnt even pick up the new hardware that was installed.so i reinstalled the sound card to a different pci slot but my computer still didnt pick up the new hardware.
so my question is, how do i get my computer to notice the "new hardware"? because if it doesnt notice the new hardware, it wouldnt show up in my "device manager".
