So, I bought an mp3 player about 7 months ago, and it was all good, and working fine, until a couple weeks ago, whenever I listened to music, the music would only come out of the RIGHT earphone, not the left. But if I wanted the left one to have music coming out too, I had to adjust it, and hold it in place, which isn't very good, considering that I use my mp3 player on the go.
That was with the supplied earphones, so I figured that it could be the earphones, so I went and bought new ones today, and the same problem keeps occuring.
The earphones and fully inserted, but the sound only comes out of the right earphone.
Anything I could do to stop this?
Or can somebody tell me what's wrong with my mp3 player.
Thanks in advance.

Is it a zen micro?
If it is, call up creative... the warranty should still be in effect and you can have them fix it for you...
Otherwise if you must know, the solder joint for the headphone jack came loose and must be resoldered. =\ I would do that but then im not sure you want to.

it sounds to me that your earphones are busted, if the headphone jack did come loose you wouldn't hear sound at all.

But they said they tried another pair of headphones and had the same problem
Headphone jacks are mechanical connections too they can bend, they can warp, they can come loose... it just does that... and yes, its possible for only one part to come loose esp if it was poorly made or something.

that happened to my old cd playesr and my creative muvo...
i have to like move the headphone plug (while it's inserted into the headphone jack) in circles ..searching for an area where BOTH sides of the headphone will play music..it takes a while..and then afterwards i haev to hold the headphone thingy in place. tough task.
i got a new mp3 later on...lol too much work ..and too annoying. but ti happens when things get old. happened to me 3 or 4 mp3s/cd players at least in my life..

Every song ends but that's no reason not to enjoy the music

that happened to my creative vision :m and i was too late to get it replaced >=|
so pissed off
because if i swung it the right direction it would play louder and crap like that U_____U
it always happens to my headphones when i bring it camping.
one dies then both die.

i think it's from alot of tugging and stuff.
