I was going to take it, but thank god I didn't. I think it was the teacher who was teaching it, and it didn't really help me remember the material anyway. You could try and take a shot at it though!

i took it during sophomore year
great class & fortunately
i had an awesome teacher.

the material really isn`t that
hard at all & it`s actually really
interesting. the AP test isn`t
that bad either. i thought i FAILED
b/c i did horrible, but i ended
up with a 3, not bad since i left
20 of multiple questions blank

my teacher said that the grading on
the AP test isn`t even that strict &
anyone can easily pass

talk to the teacher teaching the course
build a teacher to student
relationship & see how you like
him/her as an instructor

it isn't that hard.
the test is a lot easier than, say, AP World, because the content is concentrated on one specific area instead of spread across the world sleep.gif
but for AP classes, it's really important to have a good teacher. if you don't you'll have a harder time in the class and there's a bigger chance of not passing the test.

Take it! It's one of those funner APs out there, and all the things you learn sometimes show up in books as references and that extra bit of knowledge helps with your understanding!

i completely agree. it's going to be hard if you dont have a great teacher, especially if this is your first ap class because there is more reading tha other classes. i think that if you have a great teacher, it would be easy to get a high grade on this test. if your teacher is not so great, youre going to have to study a lot on your own.

I'm going to take it in my sophomore year this September, but the AP euro teacher already gave us students summer assignments to work on. They're so @#$^%$ hard T____T He gave us A LOT (and I mean A LOT) things to research and it's jst.. ughh.. I hate it =T BUT! It's quite interesting to learn about these things. It can be fun I guess. I jst hate the fact my teacher gave us assignments during the summer when I'm spose to have fun (ROFLLLL). That's high school I guess.

But yeah, I think you should take it. A lot of people recommended it for me.

yeah I heard the teacher is OK. but I can always drop it in the first 2 weeks if its to hard, but I don't think 2 weeks is a long enough time to experience it.

my teacher was pretty bad but I took notes and read my textbook. We didn't even cover the 1980s and up. but if you read the textbook and do practice tests, you can easliy pass the AP test
fyi i got a 5

I heard taht AP euro is better than um AP us ? or somethig
cause it covers a large time period so then the material you learn is more broader so yeah. lol I think you shoudl take it. I plan on taking it during my JR yr.

Oh damn ..

I didn't wanna take it because one of the teachers I had, he said he's very strict & in my school, we switch teachers FOUR times & I was afraid I'd get him >__>.

Ya'll saying it's fun? Or does it really depend on the teacher?

Hahaha, AP European History was NOT hard. Although you may actually need to set aside several hours for studying, it is not a difficult course. You should take it! It's interesting smile.gif

OMG..if you hate history like I do, it's hard. I couldn't sit through reading my Palmer book at school. I studied like 2 weeks in advance in a test and would only get high B's, which sucked. sad.gif But, if you actually try hard and do your best, I'm sure you'll be fine. Just take it. Then you can figure out if you wan to do another history AP.

^ I understood completely, hahah. I was strongly advised not to take any AP history because I suuuuck at history, but I went ahead and took AP Euro anyways because it looked fun =X And the class was HELLISHLY hard, but also fun! And yeah, it was fun because I actually learned SO MUCH STUFF, lol - about politics, religion, society, of course the history of all the european countries =) unlike AP US, I hear it's just memorization and fact crunching. The novels are pretty interesting too ~ our textbook book was about as dull as watching paint dry, however

Get the book called MODERN EUROPEAN HISTORY by Viault (sp?) and PR to prep for the test! I basically knew NOTHING about the material and just studied from those week before and got a 5 wink.gif
smile. you don't know who's day you're making. :)

i had the worst experience
it was my first AP last year
and it was alot of work cus our teacher had never taught euro history before.... which is RETARDED.
so in class i did well because she curved everything

and there were like.. 15 kids in my class..
the AP classes at my school are really selective..

aniwais.
i enjoyed taking it.. beause i have like... a broader view of history...

i bought and studied from the PRINCETON REVIEW thingy..
and studied like.. INTENSELY with that an my text book...
for the last 2 weeks... ( didnt learn a THING in class)

and i ended up with a 5.

luck?

haha ap euro is the funnest class ever and i have like 101% in it..basically read and do ALL of your work...and plus my teacher knows all of these unnecessary yet hilarious facts...like an astronomer named Tycho Brahe died because his bladder exploded after drinking too much rum..

One of the easiest ap classes I've taken. It was nice. Got an okay score, I learned alot and still remember quite a ton. I think you should take it.
