The show on Nickelodeon is going into it's 3rd season.
If you have never seen the show, it's not neccesarily an "anime" because it was created by Americans, and is a cartoon coming from Nickelodeon, however, the animations are outsourced to South Korea (as many other cartoons are i.e. The Simpsons) and the show is heavily influenced by Pan-Asia (i.e. India, China, Korea).

For more information visit here.

The show is actually very good in my opinion. The voices are well done, the storyline is interesting, the animations are seamless, and the action scenes are very entertaining.

I really enjoy this show! I love how the different elements they use for fighting are actual different styles of martial arts. Though... I think water bending is Tai Chi. Yeah... I'm pretty sure it is. It looks like it.

But I love the storyline. And what I love is the character development with Prince Zuko. When the first show began, I hated him with a passion. He just seemed like an ill-tempered prince that I assumed that I would hate him for the rest of the series. But as the series went on, you see him start to change and start to become into this likeable character.

I love all the asian cultural influences that are incorporated into the show, tooo!

And Sokka! Man, oh man! He makes the show freakin` hilarious. He's just so funny.

Man... at first, I was sort of skeptical when I first watched it. But now I love love LOVE it! It's nice to see that Nickelodeon has such an interesting show as this.

Did anyone watch the avatar movie "The Fury of Aang"? I don't really see it as a movie, though. It was only about an hour long...

There's already a thread for Avatar. But it's in the other tv,movie, and books section though. It's pretty dead though.http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?sho...=43944&st=0

It was just two different episodes combined. The first half was called The Library and the last half was called the Desert.

Damn the next new episode wont be out until September. sad.gif

yea, but I thought it'd be more appropriate within this subforum. I mean, it's animated in Korea, and this isn't the typical American Cartoon. I think it deserves the idea of being called an "anime".

this is American, the creators of the show are American, however, everything in this cartoon is heavily influenced by the Pan-Asian culture, and as for the animations, it's outsourced to Korea, so I thought it would fit better here, than the other thread.

sorry there already is another older and larger Avatar thread in other TV. so I'm going to have to close this. Just because it is animated by animators in Korea doesn't necessarily mean it's anime either, the Simpsons are also animted in Korea and are hardly anime. Same for Samurai Jack.
