Do soccer players stay in a hotel or somewhere else besides home when they have a game coming up? Like all of the players stay in same place when they have a game comping up or when they have training? they cannot go home?

im not a proffesional soccer player but i guess when its the World Cup or a big tournament outside their country like UEFA CL they stay in hotels when the game is away or not in their stadium
but when they are playing league games they stay at home and just drive to training or something when they need to

I'm sure they stay in hotels, but i think the host/home team stay at home, whereas the away/visitors stays at a hotel.
That's what i think, since last year in the english premiership, the last match, tottenham players were food posioned at the hotel, and the were the away side.

They probably have hotels blocked out from the public just like Olympic Villiage where the athletes stay during the Olympics.

Probably since soccer is so broad.
There's MLS, Premier League, Serie A, Pretty much all the G-14 Teams, K-League, J-League, World Cup.
So it could get hectic, complicated, and all mixed up.
