I have never played WoW, I might get addicted, I'll just stick to my other online games hehe.
Tomohisa says MAJIDE, Yamapi SHOCK. Toma says YATTA.

Where's the fun?.. it's a giant grindfest..

Kill same monsters over and over.. get some ability that does the same thing, but 10% more damage than previous ability.

Go to new area, do the same thing.

Hit level cap, start raiding so you can get equipment that's 3% better than the items you have.

Go to new area, do the same thing.

Raid on a schedule that looks like a high schooler's part time work schedule, just to get priority in guild to get aforementioned items. I mean, I guess it's addictive in that you really have to play if you want to "accomplish" anything.. but it doesn't really seem fun. The whole MMO model right now is stagnant..

to me its not about the content but the people you are with when your going thru the game...yes its the same thing over and over again but the lore and the people you are with is what makes the game. the content and the gear is second compare to who you are with when you log on. like i have a group of friends that i have been with for over 2 years and i wouldnt trade anything in the world to replace those group of friends that i have

Isn't that pretty much every game? Lol. I do have to agree with you about the whole raiding schedule. That's why I never joined a raiding guild (although I could have joined the best guild on my server). It turns a game into too much like a job. So most of my time was spent gathering up friends to go kill some horde. smile.gif

It probably is, haha.. in non-MMO there's at least a story line though.

But yeah, when EQ was big I did raiding guild a lot.. DKP structure, pretty much have to raid A LOT if you want to get anything out of the guild at all.. and people complain and write you up if you don't show up.

Like you said, feels like a job. World PVP is fun, but that's not really done well in games nowadays.. can't loot coin or item.. can't even talk to the opponents.. can't kill the people on your faction.

I'm not so much into online gaming nowdays, that's why probably..

i've seen too many people get addicted to wow to ever consider playing it. People lying... disappearing from work for two weeks, getting kicked out of college and lying about it.. and never EVER considering that they were addicted to the game when they were spending 15+ hours a day playing it...
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

i am guilty of playing video games ^^;;. right now my bro has a ps3 and i'm
so tempted to play but reconsider. its like a drug, once i touch it theres no
going back. i buy video games now and then and consider playing them but
in the end give them to my lil'bros. i don't really care for the psp and nintendo
DS lite. more of a controller gamer. and computer games are just not my thing.

If that's only possible in the underground then we'd like the underground to be our home. It's good like that."

i remember like 5 or 6 years ago, there was some study or survey out there claiming that the average gamer's age was actually 30 something! i'm sure with the nintendo wii's recent popularity with the older crowd, that avg # probably went up a speck!

anyone excited for diablo 3??
