Mr Boo, how did you like E3? I didn't bother making it out this year, had other plans. Did sit through the feeds and I enjoyed the Sony press a hell of a lot more than the MS one.

Anyway, picked up three games this week: Red Faction Guerrilla, Prototype and Tiger Woods 10.

RFG impressions:
- fantastic MP. The chaos is a joy to play
- lousy SP. Repetitive and really short if you ignore the somewhat bland "side" missions.

Prototype:
- garbage game.
- Not even close to being anywhere good as Hulk Ultimate Destruction
- ugly presentation and execution
- garbage.

Tiger 10:
- better than 09
- typical EA presentation being a "major" upgrade
- Hot Shots Golf is still the best golf game out on the market.

edit - Prototype is nothing but hype. It's ASS Creed all over again with more violence and less Jade Raymond.

I really enjoyed E3 a whole lot but it was hectic at the same time. I too did enjoy the Sony presser than the MS presser. Nintendo presser was a snore. tons of games that i took a looked at and a lot that i played.
Mass Effect 2 i was able to sit in and was awesome.
did manage to get some time in for brutal legends and need for speed: shift
saw way too much to name and i do have pics but i will post some when i find the time

Just a little price drop. That's all I need. Fall 09..come on Sony, I'm depending on you! *crosses fingers*

doubt there will be a price dropped or else they would've announced it at e3...

I just made a sim yesterday evening. I found the clothes to be very customizable once you get into choosing their colors and patterns. Only disappointing thing was that they didn't really seem to have an Asian skin tone and Asian, noses, head shape, etc. Also, we weren't able to choose our height, although from a graphic's standpoint, i understand why coders wanted to restrict/preset everyone's height.

I just started the game and moved into a home. I haven't even tried to hit the fast forward button yet as i was busy reading the tutorial pop-ups and pausing the game non-stop lol. So far, the game plays like Sims1 (i never played Sim2 before). But yea, not a whole lot of furniture to choose from as i'm sure they want to sell extras via expansion packs and through the EA Sims community thingy (somehow can buy credits and spend it at the EA store?). Also, can we create furniture, sims, houses, etc and trade with friends online or something?

I don't remember Sims 1....it was so long ago x_X!!! And about the online trading I'm not too sure. I haven't registered online yet so =/ Hopefully you can, or it'd be a real let down seeing how there are very many objects in the game as of now. And in terms of the facial stuff, it's actually possible. You just have to click on the advanced option and you can rotate, stretch, etc. I haven't tried making an Asian character yet but I'm sure it can be done haha...though it'll probably take a lot of patience to get the proportions correct =) I must admit though I kind of stopped playing. =/ Work + sleep pretty much took over my sim's life. Not to mention the fact that it takes a lot longer to level up their skills, which, they need for work v_v" I don't mind this normally but the fact that the fast forward button moves at the speed of a snail doesn't really help things. I'm hoping maybe EA will address the speed problem in a patch or something...though the likelihood of that seems fairly low heh

Actually, no. If they were to announce a price drop, E3 is definitely not the right time and place. If Sony ever does annouce a price drop they need to make sure that it's in their favor. They are already losing money per console sold so to drop it even more is a difficult choice for them. In that case, they need to make sure that the price drop would be timed correctly as to maximize the number of consoles sold right? And what time of the year is it crucial to slash the price on your products? Christmas. Seeing how ps3 did so poorly against 360 sales last year, the only way I could see Sony really catching up is price drop. (Though I must admit that their big increase in high quality games is doing a decent job as well). In any case, the whole point I'm trying to make is that IF the ps3 really were to undergo a price drop, it would be around fall, towards the beginning of holiday season. If it doesn't happen then well...I'll probably get one anyway..haha but one can hope =)

If they would've announced some sort of price dropped this would've been the time to announced a future price dropped cause everyone has been eying on you. Especially with the way their presser went last year. I agree with everyone you said don't get me wrong and it would be like that for most companies to wait for the right time to cut the price down but just about everyone at the sony presser was waiting for them to announce some sort of price drop...myself included

I just bought the Sims 3 (gave up downloading it cause not enough people were seeding it... sad.gif ) anyone play this game?

Yeah.. decent seeds, was getting about 350-400kbs.

Boring game though, but I guess most people who liked Sims 2 would like it. My gf seemed really enthused.. I ended up getting bored after a few days of playing though.

It's pretty repetitive.. and non-interactive. Lots of time spend waiting while your sim is sleeping, at work, or grinding skills.

Oh thanks for the advanced option thingy, i didn't even notice it.

Yea, i registered online. Basically, they have an online store for gamers to buy extra furniture, clothes, hair, etc. Then, they have this Exchange section which i think is for gamers to exchange items they created in the game. It's just too bad my EA manager crashes everytime i load the Exchange ><. Stupid. The game is really buggy right now. My mouse wheel also does not allow me to tilt the camera too and there is no shortkey for it on the keyboard. Very frustrating.

But yea, i never played Sim2 so i don't know why everyone is complaining about the fast forward button. It seems fast enough.

Well ironically, that sounds an awful lot like... real life laugh.gif ...eat, sleep, work, home, wake up and do it all over again...

And in between all that, try to "Woohoo" every hottie in town... wink.gif

I feel bad for the people that actually shell out money for in-game items in S3.

Then again, people do the same for a lot of nonsense in Live Marketplace and the PSN store. Microtransactions are one of the worst things ever.

First time i ever saw that kind of business model was in Maplestory. In fact, the full version of Maplestory is FREE and the only thing you pay for is novelty upgrades through their in-game Maple Store. I haven't played Maplestory in years but when they first started, items available for purchase was purely for aesthetics reasons and didn't even grant the gamer any in-game advantage.

I'm not surprised other gaming companies have caught on to this cash grab idea because it obviously works. It's the business model for the future of video gaming. They'll sell the main game and then have these online stores for gamers to purchase additional upgrades. I can see a lot of Sims3 gamers shopping for new clothes and room decor on a frequent basis.

I've noticed it happening more and more with some of the online games I play (or should I say used to play..)
The problem is people shooting back responses like "well some people have more money than time" or "people who are willing to pay more should obviously get more" (this is kind of ridiculous for games which already have a base charge for a subscription)..but part of what makes a game especially one where you play against other people fun is that you all start and compete on equal grounds..But I guess it's all about $$$$$$$$$$ now..there's always counter-strike biggrin.gif

Lol.. I just finished installing this game and .. whats changed? I wonder if you can still put a sim in a room with no doors and have them cook food/fail and die in a fire :\

I need new wii games. Suggestions?

l wouldn't call myself a gamer but l play once in a while (PS3). Sometimes l'll go many months without playing and than play for a week straight. l just finished Resident Evil 5. smile.gif l usually love violent/bloody/gore/graphic/horror games i.e. Resident Evil/Hitman/Silent Hill/Dead Space etc. but you'd never guess it's because l'm a really bubbly happy go lucky type of girl.

I'm still playing Sims3 and managed to save my character on the morning before he dies of old age, basically allowing me to live the last day of his life over and over again. I've done just about everything from trying to get "woohoo" one last time to getting into a fist fight. It really got me thinking, what if today was MY real last day on Earth, how would i live it? How would i want to be remembered? Life is too short with too little time. So many good life lessons to be learned in this game.

Lol gave up on WoW? smile.gif

My laptop is dead... I hate myself for not building my own desktop but damn my lack of space. I was trying out Dragonica at the time. I must admit, it's not half bad. Kinda feels like i'm playing WoW,MVC2, and Maplestory at the same time. Lol. I was also skipping around to a lot of the old games I used to play like SC & WC but I pretty much stopped playing those again as well. Hm.. maybe i'll play sc again once my laptop is fixed.

Based on this Kotaku article, the PS3 is gonna have an AMAZING bundle offer this-coming Sunday. MGS4 + Killzone 2? Ridiculous.
I'm actually gonna... buy another PS3. Dammit.

SPEAKING OF WHICH,

Also comes in Rubber Ducky and Pirate Tattoo flavors.
Sadly, this is not a joke. But it is funny as hell.

You should play DotA again, Mouse! ;D
If you're looking for MMOs that are similar to WoW, it's hard to go wrong with Runes of Magic (RoM).
It's a free-to-play WoW-clone that adds a couple of interesting features, like a flexible dual-class system and personal house system.
I played it for a while (Rogue/Scout, foshofosho), but haven't reinstalled it since I formatted my laptop a little while back.
Sort of doubt I'll go back to it now, seeing as how the friends I played it with have kind of moved back to WoW... (SIGH.)
Grip me with your eyes.

I love my nintendo DS happy.gif

So many great RPGs on it (playing Shin Megami Tensei: Devils Survivor right now)

I recommend getting the R4 if you own a DS. It only costs about $30 and another $10 for an 8gig memory card, and you can fit tons of games in it, saves you hundreds of dollars =]. And there are a lot of great games that haven't been released outside of Japan that you can download and use fan made patches to translate into English and play.

I hope Dragon Quest 9 comes out soon!
