I'm excited, but I'm more so not excited at all.
I don't like Juri, and I've never liked T. Hawk or Deejay. T. Hawk has like, 0 frame start up command grabs. No thanks.
The game was perfect already, I guess you could say I'm scared of change LOL.

Wow, you sound like you know your fighting games. I think that's f'n awesome for a girl. biggrin.gif

Anyways, I am a huge fighting game player (or at least i used to be). I own a Hori stick and 2 SF4 Tournament Edition sticks. (But i still play on pad) tongue.gif
I play 'em all, not just SF4. ^^
So yeah..who got PS3 here?

seems as if half my Facebook friends play either Restaurant City or Farmvill on their Facebook. Don't know if these counts as games though. lol

Lol. I heard all you do is leave it on.

I always thought Diner Dash was fun.

Cool thanks. I've been itching to maybe open a business in the near future (possibly a restaurant of some type) but have no experience. Not sure if those games will help but will give it a try.

Could anyone recommend a good Restaurant/Business game?

Capitalism 2.

It's pretty heavy on the sim-side. More macro than micro, but it'll let you get some play in your head around business fundamentals.

I remember reading a while back how it got integrated with a couple of uni programs.. kinda interesting.

Hella back. Like when I was still in school. So probably 4-5 years?

The graphics are horrible, no lie. Just download and give it a shot.

Unrelated to topic side note, someone needs to remake FF8.

I envy those who play fighting games well. I recently discovered that fighting games are not for me. ;__;

You know when you play a game that's different from your comfort-zone-genre and you reach some kind of an epiphany then do pretty decent, and maybe VERY well afterwards? After several tries learning and playing SF4 I couldn't do very much nor did I ever reach that epiphany (I know how to execute the moves, but I think I'm trying too hard to execute them well so there's no tactic when I play...) I had my heart set out to play Abel after I get confident tears.gif

Any advice you guys can give to me? Specifically for SF4 because that game is one of my favorite games to watch and I really want to be able to play someday (I like how they stick with the animated look and don't try to make the characters look too realistic like,... say Tekken. The brush+ink stroke style that they added for 4th is a huuuge plus).

Like someone else said, videos of your character and Shoryuken.com's specific character forums would be really helpful for you. You're lucky, Justin Wong played Abel before so I'm sure all of the fanboys are still interested in trying to play Abel, too. . .unless they moved on to FeiLong now laugh.gif

Watching videos is one thing, learning how to play is completely different. Trying to xcopy someone's play style doesn't mean much if you don't know why it works and the situations it involves.

I agree, I was hoping not to get the video answers (even when I used to play Maximum Tune competitively I didn't use videos) ^^;;

Thanks for the advice all, I'll try to play/practice as much as I can until I understand how the game works =]

yeah, watching videos is the worst way to learn especially if you are a beginner.

Esther, Abel is one of the toughest characters to play effectively in SFIV imo.

If I were starting off, I'd learn the strategies that utilizes normal moves for pokes, footsies, and anti-air. I don't think any player totally depends on special moves to pull off a win. Most times a character loses health from getting knocked out of the air, tripped, or thrown.

This is what SRK is for. I know there are plenty of threads and videos and so on that show what to do, AND explain it to you. How to do it, when to do it, why you should do it, when to and when not to do it, etc etc. Of course, with such a seriously competitive game like this, there is TONS of information for you. There are even videos that show peoples hands while they play (although, this is for stick).

I was taught. Most people that don't have any sort of solid, fighting game background probably have to be taught, but you have a lot of information at your disposal, luckily.
