Valve managed to deliver an edited version of L4D2 so no worries you'll be bashing zombie brains all over the streets of New Orleans in no time.

Saints Row 2 for $7.50 on Steam, today only.
Get on it if you want ridiculous/over-the-top open-world action.
Quite a deal for a pretty solid game.

Hit me up if you wanna play a few matches.
I host on TDA mostly, but haven't really played in 1-2 months.

RO has a special place in my hearttt.
It was the first "real" MMO I got into when I was young;
I remember spending countless hours playing with my friend, and then talking about it non-stop in school.
I still love the Card System (each monster having a unique card), and think it's a great design concept to make even simple grinding feel rewarding (the chance of a card drop).
Not a great game by today's standards, but nostalgia-value is through the roof.
Ah, the days of hunting MVPs...

I dunno why, but I find it pretty funny that your name is "sc_addict" and your first post is a short diddle about Starcraft.
It's so obvious that it's funny, I guess. Or I'm just weird.

So, I'm thinking about developing a game for PC and XBOX Live Arcade using C# and XNA.
Not completely sure yet, but will update if I decide to actually go all-out on it!

Oh, yeah. P.S. Assassin's Creed is $5.00 on Steam til Thursday.

They'd have to pay me to play that garbage.

IW/Acti messed up by removing dedicated servers from MW2. What a bunch of crooks.

^ yar, it's not an amazing game (repetitive being the main adjective), but worth $5.00 to play one of the most hyped games of 2007.

It's not "crookedness" on Infinity Ward's part. It's just business. (and smart business, to be honest)
Taking away the dedicated server feature is a bit of a pain for some people, but it makes sense.
Not only does this practically stop online piracy (by forcing online validation), it also allows IW to streamline their online services into an online hub resembling Battle.net.
On the commercial side of things, it lets them control DLC content, such as maps, since people won't be able to freely share DLC maps. (which kinda sorta sucks for the PC crowd, but makes sense in this console-influenced gaming climate)
People also won't be able to cheat their way through online achievements using achievement servers.

Either way, the switch shouldn't affect the large majority of players much.

P.S. #2, according to September's NPD financial report, PS3 Slim outsold Wii in terms of console numbers, which is a pretty amazing feat. ... even though few people on here really care about the business side of things. D;

There's a huge backlash towards MW2 and for good reason.

Business or not, it's a lousy decision.

p2p
Host advantage
Clans that can't just host or find a server to play matches
blah blah blah

lol Kotick.

^ agreed on the point that Bobby Kotick can go eat a d#ck. (Activision publishing the PC version is pretty funny, actually)

I highly doubt that the "host advantage" would be significant, given today's networking advances.
IW is not gonna screw over their multiplayer component that heavily; they're gonna make sure there's the least amount of noticeable lag possible.
The clan stuff is kinda sorta true, but esoteric. And it's not like you can't play with arranged teams.
I'm not going out and saying that this decision isn't a bit of a pain for the PC consumer, but it's not nearly as bad as some people claim it is. And it stops online piracy (through private servers), which is the biggest thing.

So, the news hit today that Civilization IV is starting development as a Facebook app.

For whatever reason, I've been sucked back into Civilization IV. SIGH.
There goes hours and hours upon hours after hours over hours of my day. Poof.

I'm pretty sure that Sid Meier is stalking my gaming activity and planning his productivity schedule around it.
This will probably be the one and only Facebook game I ever play. They got me. SIGH.

I'm more surprised you fellas aren't up in arms about the pricing on the PC version. $59.99 all across the board.
And for those looking on a deal, Amazon is offering a $15GC for those pre-ordering MW2. The month of November has something for everyone whether it's L4D2, Assassin's Creed 2, RE Darkside Chronicles and New Super Mario Bros.
Have at it smile.gif
