My first online shooting game realization: punching/elbowing someone to death is infinitely more satisfying than shooting them to death.

Your console will get banned, meaning you will have to buy a new Xbox. My boyfriend has had tons of calls lately from people getting banned for playing Forza 3 and Borderlands before the games were released. Assuming you have a good rip of the game, your best bet is remove your hard drive and internet cable from the Xbox, and then play. You can't play online until midnight of the release, of course, assuming the game has a midnight release (obviously, MW2 does.)
We don't know anyone who has gotten banned for MW2 yet, because most of the people he's sold it to are smart, but if you play it online before it's released, play it online assuming you will get banned. Also, just because they don't ban you immediately (say, right after the release) doesn't mean they can't ban you anytime for the game. My boyfriends Xbox got banned yesterday because one of our idiot friends put BlazBlue in before it was released, and I don't even remember how long ago that game came out.
Just remember, if it shows up in your recent games section, then Microsoft can see that. I don't know if you were referring to a legit copy of MW2 or a burned one, but there are a LOT of bad copies of the game out on the internet right now, so be careful, if you get a bad copy, you'll get banned regardless of whether or not you play the game after the official release date.

My #1 favorite game of all time is Skies of Arcadia. In total, I've probably contributed over 300 hours, playing through *almost* 3 times.
My other favorites include Shenmue 1/2 (SO freaking pissed and sad that 3 will probably never come out...), Persona 3/4, Monster Rancher 1-3, and Digimon World! (Don't laugh)

I'm interested in playing the single player campaign but I'm don't care for the leveling up multiplayer deathmatch system.
Are their any other modes coming out with this game that has co-op in it?

I figured as much. I doubt it's worth getting banned with the insane lineup of titles due out this month. So I just went ahead and bumped up my Amazon delivery to release day delivery instead of super saver shipping so come Tuesday I'll be ready to go. That is unless the UPS guy slacks off.
Btw I was referring to a legit copy of the game since a few places in the City & Chinatown often break street dates.

The SP campaign should run you about 6hrs or so and if multiplayer isn't your thing then there is spec-ops.
"In short, specops is much like the "Mile High Club" mission — that is unlocked after completing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare — in which you had to rescue a VIP that was held hostage in a big jumbo jet filled with armed enemies. While this was singleplayer only, specops is meant to be worked on co-op style."
Which games do you plan on trading in for MW2?
By the way Amazon is having a sale at 12PM PST, 3PM EST on X360 arcade systems. Pick one up for $199.98 and get a free $100 gift card.

Spec Ops is good though, just not with matchmaking.
No one knows for sure what MS uses as a guideline for banning since there is no consistent xx/yy for getting hit with the hammer.
Sony has no problems with playing releases early.
If you're in a big city, more often than not, there'll be a few places breaking street dates.

Managed to find a copy did we?
How's Zimmer's latest work in this? I was hoping Harry G Williams would return but how else are they gonna make use of that ridiculous budget.
Most unappreciated game ever made.

They do random sweeps, usually around the time of a big game release, people have been getting banned a lot lately because a lot of big games have been coming out. Just because you don't get hit with the hammer this sweep, doesn't mean they won't get you next sweep, or the sweep after that. It sucks.

Oh definitely and November is has been a good time for them to go through the ban wave the past few years. No matter how safe you feel, you'll get banned eventually.
It's just no one knows for sure; if it was something like FW then everyone should be getting banned; but since it isn't, only MS knows.

Actually, funny that you mentioned that. . .
Everyone we know with a modded Xbox has been banned lately, and it's not a bad rip, because a lot of the people don't have matching games that they played, and one guy even rips games himself, so we're thinking MS might have figured something out after all.
Here's to hoping otherwise :| Boyfriend is testing this idea with a modded Xbox, and he's ONLY playing a legit copy of SFIV on it, so if he gets banned, it can't be because of a burned game. We'll see ;---;
