been playing god of war II. though, i only get to play it when my lady is around since she wants to watch me play and it's her fav game..

also, battling out capcom vs snk 2 at work.

lately i've been playing alot of 2D fighting on my PS2 like guilty gear XX slash, samurai showdown, fatal fury battle archive, king of fighters neowave, and just got fist of the northstar.

earthbound. chrono trigger. phantasy star 4. final fantasy 3. lufia 2. breath of fire 2. and yes, even super mario rpg.

these are the best RPGs of all time, hands down. before the playstation, before the glitz and glamour became important. back during a time when it was all about solid gameplay, storyline, and secret characters and moves to discover.
the joy of travelling through time and unlocking the black treasure boxes in chrono trigger, figuring out that new combination to unlock a masterful special move in ps4, finding gogo or umaru as secret characters or watching celes sing in that opera in ff3, training pets to help your party before pokemon even existed in lufia 2, tearfully watching all the photos that were taken throughout your journey while the credits rolled in earthbound, and timing your jump just right for Mario to deal extra damage to smithy in SMRPG.

i'd trade in my left testicle to relive the experiences i had while playing any of the games above... the type of experiences i just don't feel anymore while playing FF12, Dragon Quest VII, Xenosaga, etc. i long for those days again.

Although I dunno if I would trade in my left testicle in order to gain those experiences back.

Today's RPGs are fun, but it seems like the market finally got oversaturated with them and it's hard to consider it a niche genre now.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

long cinema cut-scenes ruined rpgs. every rpg in the market today is still emulating the epic feel of FFVII.

Thats why I love the feel of Legend of Heroes on PSP. It's like taking a trip back to the ol' school and prolly why I'm loving the hell out of the game. Can't wait to finish it and start on the next 2.

I finished Skies of Arcadia legend not long ago (I never completed the DC version). It's such a great game! I think I want to go back and play Shadowrun on my SNES again. XP

I'm playing Tales of Symphonia right now and that one is ok. I finishied cooking mama on wii though!

have you two tried the Genesis version of Shadowrun? i heard its pretty good.

I haven't had a lot of time to play games of late because of school, but I squeeze a few things in.

I recently finished the Super Mario Bros for DS. I enjoyed. My husband thought it nice to buy me Yoshi's Island for DS and Super Princess Peach for DS.

Me and the hubby play Wii Sports a lot. I enjoy the classic games we downloaded. I want to finish Kingdom of Hearts and my Castlevania games.

I also look forward to spending some time playing some the NIS (?) RPGs my hubby has such as Atelier Iris and Disgea. I am also interested in La Pucelle Tactics.

Lots of games I want to try.

Can't wait for summer!

i went a little crazy on the game buying last week. picked up skies of arcadia legends, tales of symphonia, and shadow of the colossus. i may pick up a used copy of shadow hearts: from the new world that i was keeping my eye on earlier. i just need to find a wavebird and a gamecube memory card now...

I still need to get Skies of Arcadia again for my DC. Loved the game, but never finished it back then. I finally recieved Phantasy Star IV and Streets Of Rage for my Genesis in the mail yesterday. Today when I get home from work, I'll try them out and make sure they work. Can't wait to pick up PSIV again, even though I'm tempted to by the Sega classics pack for the PSP as it has PSIV on it. lol. Nothing like having a portable version, but I am still looking into hacking my PSP. My friend just did his and sold most of his games and now just plays homebrews. Very tempting, as there are games I want to try, but don't wanna pay for.

I can be such a cheapass at times.

Modded as in, the US system is rigged to play Japanese games or a japanese system that can play US games. msot need a mod chip or in the saturn's case and attachment. I need the ability to play both japanese and US games. lol

On a side note, Amazon's deal of the day today is Tony Hawk Project 8 for $24.99. I couldn't pass it up... so I bought one. LOL
