I'm pretty much confused by this scholarship. I read on this other forum (not on soompi) that it says only about 30 students gets it per year. Does this only apply to senior? Or there is no scholarhsip like this? That's my question. A lot of the students get this scholarship mixed up with the one in New England or so. I'm not sure if it is New England. ^^;;

I'm not sure where to post this at.

well, I live in washington, so I can telly ou how the gates scholarship is over here. the scholarship is only offered in some schools(three to be exact). anywho, if one gets the scholarship, he/she is required to attend a washington school for the first two years(public or private) then can transfer. I believe the scholarship covers everything. a friend's cousin got a gates scholarship, so I am just telling what my friend told me about how her cousin got hers. and yes you have to be a senior.

anywho, this isn't a lot of help I know, so once school starts ask your counselor or teacher about it

^don't you have to be a program to get the scholarship? I think that confuses me also. That there are two of them and don't get to seem it straight. ^^;;

is this the scholarship where you need to write like 8 essays? i think it's only available to seniors and i'm not sure of what the number of people that are awarded this scholarship but it's under 30 (maybe 25?) you have to have a 3.4 unweighted and your efc has to be under a certain amount for you to qualify. i'm not sure what the exact qualifications are but i'm sure you can find it somewhere. just ask your guidance counselor about it at school when school starts if you're a senior. if you're not a senior yet then wait til senior year but it never hurts to ask early
