Listen to Sweetbox's "Don't Push Me" then check out U;Nee's "넌 딱 걸렸어 (Oh Punch)"

ohmy.gif Same thing, no?

U;nee's song might be harder to find than Sweetbox, so I upped it on YSI. Here's the link: trial download

U;nee's ablum was released in 2003 -- I couldn't find the album on which "Don't Push Me" was released because Sweetbox has a lot of albums and Hits albums...

I know copying/borrowing isn't anything new... I was just wondering which song came out first because they are SO alike.
surpr!se. ^^v

It's called a cover. It's not uncommon in the music industry, and it's not plagiarism. The song and its copyrights were probably bought so that U;Nee's management could rewrite it and so that she could sing it.

agreed with what ^ she said up there.
as long as they gave the credits to the right person, then it's finee.

I like Sweetbox's version better; it's a good song.

If the song itself is the same, then it would have been a cover.

Sweetbox's "Don't Push Me" was HUUUUGE in S.Korea; if it was plagerised there would have been a kerfuffle about it biggrin.gif

I have the U;nee album and I can tell you it was NOT plagarized. It was a cover for Sweetbox's version. The Sweetbox version came out about 6 months before U;nee's version.

I scanned the inner cover above. Notice they mention both the original title as well as crediting the original artist.

Although there are a few instances here and there where real plagarism takes place, for the most part the plagarism problem is blown WAY out of proportion. Remakes are perfectly legal because original artists are credited and compensated for and copyrights are respected. The majority of the accusations I've seen turn out to be official remakes/covers but people jump the gun and assume plagarism. It's probably cuz the songs were downloaded instead of purchased in which case you can easily verify if proper credits were given by looking at the CD booklet.

Naw... it's cuz her 2nd album just flat out sucked. laugh.gif

I loved her first album (which I recommend to anyone & which this song was a part of) cuz the songs were really good and she had a unique rapping style. Personally I think she IMPROVED on the original song "Don't Push Me" with her rapping style. Anyways, she then did a 180 and abandoned the style that made her so good in the first album. The result? ... an unoriginal, uninspiring 2nd album which no one should waste time listening to. When you compare her first and second album, you'd think it was two different artists which is a real shame cuz her first album was pretty good.

Oh and for the record, I like both songs but love U;nee's version more. The rap breakdown she does is better than Sweetbox's breakdown IMO. I also like the recording quality and instruments used in U;nee's version more.
