ok... so my school sent out the transcripts on july 11th.

and ucs required them the 15th...

somehow only one person's got there and everyone else from my school that got into a uc got something like or similar to this:

Dear Student:

You were admitted provisionally to the University of California at San Diego contingent upon your maintaining a strong academic record in your senior year, as well as submitting your final official high school transcript. The deadline for receipt of this transcript was July 15, 2006.

Since we have not received your transcript, we assume that you have made other arrangements to pursue your educational goals for fall 2006. We are therefore withdrawing your admission offer and canceling any classes you may have enrolled in for the fall quarter. If you applied for campus housing, that office will be notified of this action.

If you have questions or concerns regarding your status, please contact the Office of Admissions, Processing Unit at (858) 534-4208. We wish you success in your future educational endeavors.

Sincerely,

Mae W. Brown
Assistant Vice Chancellor/Director of Admissions
Admissions and Enrollment Services

nothing other than the website that said the deadline was the 15th.

lots of us went to the school and kept telling them to send but theyre slow... so they finally did it by the 11th.

Go back to the school and demand them to send an apology note or something to the UC. I think it's the counselors' fault for not sending sooner.

If it doesn't work.... there's always community college.

But really... that sucks so bad since you would have gone to UCSD.

you should most likely be able to get it straightened out. last year there was a mistake on my transcript and my admission got cancelled. but i met with the counselors and straightened it out.

I don't think admissions offices tend to be open on the weekends, so I think you have to wait until Monday to contact them. Meanwhile, try to contact someone at your high school. I'm sure the rest of your schoolmates who received the letter are trying to do the same, but it doesn't hurt to try contacting your guidance counselor or a registrar. You could try checking your school district's office. My former high school's district office was open on the weekends, so try that. If you call UCSD on Monday and they say they can't do anything, ask to speak to the dean of admissions and explain the situation. I hardly think it's fair that they penalize you (and your former schoolmates) for a mistake that wasn't yours.

This is the first time I ever heard of this happening. But call the dean of admissions like Misoobishi said and explain the situation. It's a kind of a crappy thing to do after you busted your butt for 4 years and have them say, "SIKE!" after they admitted you because of reasons out of your control.

I work in a UC admissions office, and no, they do not open on weekends -___-;;. I'm sure in cases like these, they will understand if you explain your situation because it was the school's fault, not yours. Usually cancelled admissions are for students who received more than two C's the final semester of senior year, or a D or an F, or mistakes on their transcripts (which can be fixed if you call them).

For UW, the transcript was due July 1st but my school didn't send it out until July 10th. So I asked my school to enclose a note that said that all of the transcripts from my highschool did not get sent out until July 10th.

UW was okay with it.

I think you should make your highschool counselors deal with it. It was clearly THEIR fault. Don't worry. You guys will be fine smile.gif

^Yes, call your high school counselors. Or go down there with the letter and have them call the UCSD number while you wait.

I think you'll be able to get in by talkin to the counselors about it. UCSD is pretty lenient on problems like this

If it was your high school's fault then the UCs will understand. Tell your counselor and they should be able to straighten it out. I mean, it's the school's responsibility to send out the transcripts. Hmm...although I don't see why transcripts were sent out so late. My high school sent it out the day after graduation.

NO our high school transcript were sent on the first week of July so UCSD should've gotten it. Plus I did really well in senior year counting my GPA, classes, Aps and etc. So it doesn't have to do with anything with my grades
