I'm trying to get a few more female singers onto my playlist, but my standards for female singers are much higher than they are for male singers. So far, I haven't really been able to find any Chinese or Taiwanese singers I like. I don't like singers that try to sound cute (e.g. S.H.E.). I prefer voices that are soothing and clear. i don't listen to many female singers much but i like Alin Huang, she's a new singer & she's pretty good.. been compared to Amei since her voice is pretty powerful.

Elva Hsiao...she has a nice voice, very pretty but in a mature way
she can play the piano too, if i remember correctly

Jane Zhang is awesome
she was on that Super Girls contest show that aired a little while back...and her range is just craaaazy

its HARD to find good chinese singers imo.

The singer I posted is 李慧珍 (Li Hui Zhen, Jennifer) and her album is 寻找李慧珍 (translation: Searching for Jennifer). I don't know much about her as I just discovered her music a few weeks ago. Someone in Solid07 posted a bunch of Chinese albums and I downloaded hers because the cover looked pleasant.

I love Jasmine Leong's song 勇氣 (Courage). Someone always sings it at karaoke.

I can just chime in during the chorus.

Thank you to everyone for the recommendations. Thusfar, I think Jane Zhang's singing is pretty impressive. I will try to find more of her songs.

yah jane zhang from chao ji nu shen has a greattt voice
it's really strong
and she can go VERY VERY high

Alin is so amazing and so underrated!
Here's another live performance where she sings a medley. She's the kind of person who sounds way better live; her album doesn't do her justice!

The first artist who popped into my head was Tanya Tsai, who won the 2006 GMA for Best Female Artist. She composes a lot of her own songs and her voice is very unique. I absolutely adore her ballads. She's not Taiwanese though; I think she's Singaporean?

listening to F.I.R's new album, Flight Tribe, rite now. i know they're a band, but their lead singer's a girl, and her voice is beautiful ^^

if u dun want such a 'cute' type of voice.......i recommend F.I.R.!!~
her voice is clear and very nice!!~
i would say Angela Zhang as well......she has such a powerful voice

She did covers of Jay Chou's songs and they were all awesome..

i found another clip of Alin singing live, she is soo amazing when she sings live, her pub singing background really shows & she's singing & playing the piano here too!

i agree with vc1188, her album isn't half as good as her live singing, when she sings live, it always amazes me XD
