Practice supervised driving for at least six months
Please observe the following restrictions during the supervised driving period:
No driving between 11:01 p.m. and 5 a.m.
An adult supervising driver must accompany you at all times
Driver cannot use any wireless device while operating the vehicle
Always wear safety belts
CAN I STILL PRACTICE DRIVING WITH A PARENT if i passed my knowledge test?

from waht i know, if your 16, u can only drive after u have had 6-hrs.. even if u got the permitt it wont be valid untill u finish the 6-hrs with the instructor. By state law if ur 16 u are REQUIRED to do 6-hrs behind the wheel with an instructor before driving with a parent who has a licence and is over 21...
so... just cuz u passed the written test, from what i know its the same driving w/out one if ur 16 and dont do 6-hrs.

well in massachusetts it's not a law. we however do have a law that we have to complete a drivers ed course if we're under 18 before we can take a road test. and there's also all these rules about driving so and so hours before you can get your license but no one really cares about that stuff. seriously how the heck are they going to calculate how many hours you actually drove

The hours you spend on practice is really an honor system thing, there's just no way to really enforce it, but if you suck ass on your road test, then it's pretty obvious you never practiced much at all.

However, some people choose not to get the 6 hours, b/c of whatever, and wait until they're 17. Once you're 17, you can just go to the DMV to get your permit.
In both cases, you need to have your permit and have been driving 6 months before you can test for your license.
And to answer your question, no. You can't drive at 16 if you haven't gotten your 6 hours. Without the 6 hours, you don't have a permit, and you can't drive w/o a permit. It's illegal, and if you get caught, you won't be able to get your license for life.
