FOR NJ:
Practice supervised driving for at least six months
Please observe the following restrictions during the supervised driving period:
No driving between 11:01 p.m. and 5 a.m.
An adult supervising driver must accompany you at all times
Driver cannot use any wireless device while operating the vehicle
Always wear safety belts

CAN I STILL PRACTICE DRIVING WITH A PARENT if i passed my knowledge test?

hey.. i'm from jersey too haha...

from waht i know, if your 16, u can only drive after u have had 6-hrs.. even if u got the permitt it wont be valid untill u finish the 6-hrs with the instructor. By state law if ur 16 u are REQUIRED to do 6-hrs behind the wheel with an instructor before driving with a parent who has a licence and is over 21...

so... just cuz u passed the written test, from what i know its the same driving w/out one if ur 16 and dont do 6-hrs.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't follow that rule. I drove at least 20 hours even before my first class with the instructor behind the wheel.

^ it's 6 hours with a driving instructor. so you basically learn how to drive with them, and then practice with parents.

well in massachusetts it's not a law. we however do have a law that we have to complete a drivers ed course if we're under 18 before we can take a road test. and there's also all these rules about driving so and so hours before you can get your license but no one really cares about that stuff. seriously how the heck are they going to calculate how many hours you actually drove

The hours you spend on practice is really an honor system thing, there's just no way to really enforce it, but if you suck ass on your road test, then it's pretty obvious you never practiced much at all.

^ i hardly ever drove and i definitely didn't drive that many hours because my parents just weren't available or didn't let me drive. seriously the road tests are just really easy that you don't even really need to know how to drive. pretty much anyone can get their drivers license here. all you have to know is how to back up in a straight line, three point turn, and just drive for 2 minutes and voila your license is yours.

i know georgia doesnt do that. for us u get ur permit at 15, and exactly ONE YEAR and ON DAY later, u can get ur license, or u can apply for ur license when ur 18 =] but i heard they changed the law so im not exactly sure but i dont think we have the X amount of hour thing.

In New Jersey, if you want to drive (with an adult next to you) at 16, you need to get the 6 hours once you pass the written test.
However, some people choose not to get the 6 hours, b/c of whatever, and wait until they're 17. Once you're 17, you can just go to the DMV to get your permit.

In both cases, you need to have your permit and have been driving 6 months before you can test for your license.

And to answer your question, no. You can't drive at 16 if you haven't gotten your 6 hours. Without the 6 hours, you don't have a permit, and you can't drive w/o a permit. It's illegal, and if you get caught, you won't be able to get your license for life.

^ lol "won't be able to get your license for life". it's not that serious. you probably have to wait until 21 or something like that
