Does anyone have a korean phone BOUGHT IN KOREA that they used in the states and their service is Sprint?
I know there are like a million threads on this, but how does that actually work?
I know that there's this thing called a SIM CARD etc, but isn't it illegal?
Also, if you were to get a phone from Korea... how would you change the SIM CARD, if it's illegal............ LOL.
Can someone just give me an overview from phones from KOREA to the US... and if anyone has a KOREAN PHONE FROM KOREA and their service is Sprint, tell me your story ^^ HAHA. THANKSSS<3

well, if you goto korean dealers, you can get korean phones that will probably never come to the states...
really cool ones~ they are not supposed to be imported so it is illegal...
i mean.... nothing happens to you for buying one but ur taking a risk by doing that.
first, the phones are really expensive... (500~800 dollars)
no warranty...even if u have one, they can't fix it in the states, which means u'd have to send it to korea..
sometimes they were the ones that did not pass the test in korea and were sent here...
so it can have bugs...
i actually bought a samsung anycall dual something phone in 2000....
that phone was really cool and i paid a lot for it, but....yeah i took a big risk...
they don't use sim cards...
i think they are mostly cdma

KOREAN PHONES = NO SIM CARDS
b/c KOREAN PHONES = CDMA
most korean phones use verizon (sky, anycall).
you ask a lot of questions about sim cards but that doesn't even deal with korean phones. but its illegal cus you're not supposed to import them & plus verizon doesn't allow other phones that aren't sold at the verizon stores.
mia1981 got most of it down on the post on top of mine.
i've used a lot of korean phones. sky, anycall, curitel, cyon. they're pretty nice except the whole texting thing.

the ones that are 50 dollars ....you should NEVER get them.
do you know why they are 50 bucks?
they tell you it's 50, but when u get your first bill...you'll be like..WTH
tax = 50.00 (yes 50 bucks)
they put u with a plan for 500 text messages
and all sorts of hidden charges..
customers who bought the phone for 50 ended up paying more than 300 dollars on their first bill.
it was in the korean paper a few days ago.
so the phone is not 50 dollars.
