I wanna hear from experience. I got into UCI as a freshman for this next school year, but my parents have been forcing me to think about transferring to Berkeley, since it's closer to home and such. I know I should follow my own dreams, but I am giving it a consideration. I could apply for transfer and see what happens.

So...

How hard is it?
Do people have hard time making the transition?

don't worry if you think you're the only one doing that, because apparently many people do that.
i'm transferring out of ucsc to ucd this year, and i've had a few friends who had successfully transferred from uc to uc.

however, the transition will probably not be as smooth as transferring from a community college.
i couldn't get some of my GE courses transferred to ucd because they are not "transferrable" since ucd didn't offer them.
so i recommend taking intro class series during your first 2 years at uci (like intro bio/chem/math series if youre bio major).
if you wish to take GE's, you can go for classes like intro econ/pysch....something that is most likely offered at other uc's.

i dont know if its hard to transfer to berkeley, but transferring to ucd didnt seem too hard for me and some of my friends.

i think it depends on the transfer. from a 'lower ranked' uc to a higher one will probably be more difficult. irvine to berkeley? that's kind of pushing it...but who knowsss
