My permit expires in January, and I pretty much just started driving..
Do you think if I practiced everyday, I can get my license within October-November??
I mean, I can drive on the real road. I just need practice.

*Sigh* I could have gotten my license in July, but I was just starting out...

^if her permit expires in january 07, that means she got it jan. 06, so it's been over six months.

but anyways..
of course you can biggrin.gif

I got my permit in January and didnt start driving till like may-june and took the test in july o__o and passed the first time smile.gif

just practice at the testing area a lot before the test~

uhh the road test is extremely easy. you don't need to be a pro driver to pass it. i think after you take the road test you'd be more surprised if you didn't pass it.

do you know how to ...
do a three point turn?
make complete stops at stop signs?
follow directions?(ie. turn right if told to go right)
do those left, right, stop hand signals out of your window?
use your blinkers?
back up in a straight line?
read "DO NOT ENTER" signs?blink.gif
*parallel park? (some places don't even test you on parallel parking. well at least that's how it is in massachusetts. my friends didn't get tested on parallel parking, but i did because i got my road test in boston)

well if you can do all of the above then you can pass the road test. if you can't do any of the above just practice. it's not that hard. some of my friends only drove during drivers ed because their parents didn't allow them to drive much they still passed.

sphynkter- i dont think parallel parking is required on the test anymore, they just want you to know how to do it and go through it once

Lol, you got it. All I did for a few weeks was practice parking and it was remarkable how much it helped on the streets. Turning wasn't a problem since I've been practicing parking for so long so all I had to do was signal right and go straight.

Yah with practice you will just get more in the hang of driving. My parents hired an instructor for me to learn from so it only took me a month after getting my permit to take the driving test. Got a 98/100 =)

Remember that you have to sign up one month in advanced.
My dmv was filled at every slot except the 29th day ahead lol.

well i had my roadtest a couple months back so i don't know if they recently changed the law but that's what my road test was on when i had it in april. all my friends had to do all that i listed above minus the parallel parking. i was expecting to be tested for parallel parking since i've heard that if i got my road test done in boston i'd have to know how to parallel park and I was tested on parallel parking. maybe they changed it in the recent months?

and if they don't test you on three point turns then i don't know what the heck they are going to test you on. i guess maybe they'll just watch you drive for 2 minutes? seriously how much easier can they make it?

Ohh, ic ic..
I don't know, I'm so stressed because my parents are so cautious.
They want me to stop driving if it starts sprinkling.
I also have to borrow a family member's small car because I can't control a big one.
So if I want to drive, I always have to ask; I can't just take it.
I'm going crazyyy.

I'm gonna go stupid if my permit expires... wacko.gif

haha my parents were like that too. if it started raining they wouldn't let me drive and don't even think about driving if it starts snowing. i hardly ever drove but i passed my road test. don't worry it's not that big of a deal.

Practice driving...correctly. You HAVE to follow the rules, it makes no sense practicing if you don't drive the way the state wants you to. Just read and study the driver's manuals and listen to people's tips. On your day of the test, drive with confidence.
I think you can get your license before your permit expires. smile.gif
