How do you split .avi files? or cut them in half?

How do you split .avi files in half? I want to put my movie on dvd, but it Nero says it's too big. Please and Thank you.

Are you sure you are doing it correctly?

Are you using um... nero vision or whichever program it is to drag in, and convert? Because they can fit about 4 to 5 hours of video in MOVIE DVD (one you play in a dvd player) and 4.3gb worth if its a DATA DVD (one you watch on your computer)

The movie I'm trying to put has about 5. somthing. I think it's because of the hard sub.

Try using DVDshrink. Google it.

Eh..I have DVDshrink. I don't really know how to use it.
