i had recently bought a 2004 acura RSX type-s, and i have a list of mods i am plannin to do, and one of the first things i have planned was buying a short throw shifter. I have done some research on this and it seems that DC sports seem to have reallly cheap short shifters but im kinda iffy on if i should buy a DC sport short shifter, there like 50% cheaper then most other short shifters, is it because they are less reliable? more heavy?
If anyone can recommend me any short throw shifters for a 2004 acura rsx type-s that would help me a lot.
also im not very familiar with this but does getting rid of the rev limiter get rid of the speed limiter too? or are they 2 seperate chips?

DC makes a good short shifter without any major work. You cant go wrong with any short shifter made for the rsx... just stay away from B&M (it bends the shifter cable after some time)
I would reommend you getting a Hondata Reflash. If you can afford it, get Hondata K-Pro. Its one of the best mods you get for a RSX-S

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

well i was plannin on buy a Hondata kpro but i was wondering if the 2 limiters are same or are they seperate?
Also im plannin on building the bottom end of my engine, and was thinking of getting a HKS stroker kit. From what i see and hear around it gives a gain around 50-70 lbs/ft of torque and up to 70-100hp gain at the wheels but also i hear theres a drastic loss in rev? is there a way i can get around the loss?
edit: dam nvm i guess HKS dont got any stroker kit for k20a2 engines

hahah on the clubrsx forums, it sucks how a lot of the bushings get worn out so fast with the short shifter.
How about comptech ss?

hmm comptech is just as cheap as DC sports seems and seems to give 8% less shift throws then dc sports, thanks for the response i will probably go with comptech.
i dont think a lightened flywheel would give me more torque at higher revs, i guess bigger displacements mean more torque at low revs.. but i would prefer to have it at higher revs. Is there a way to get the powerbands to stick on high rpms while giving the low end torque a boost?

yeah, there is.
it's called a turbo.
i was plannin on adding a turbo
hmm.. if i added a garret GT28 turbo would that blow up my engine if i had a 92mm stroke? The TODA stroker i ordered is going give me a pretty long stroke of 92mm meaning pretty high piston speeds, and since the internal stresses will already be pretty high with the stroker kit would a turbo blow up my engine or sumthing? or would it really work an then engine will be fine? an will my rpm be able to hit around 7800rpm at 92mm stroke on a rsx-s engine? if it does work i would probably have to get stronger cranks then the ones i ordered
im guessing if i was to add a gt28 turbo i would have to destroke which i dont wanna do
i just want my my engine to be able to hit atleast 7800rpm at 92mm stroke with no problem, im hoping the k20a2 engine can, i'll just have to wait an see i guess.
i read about this guy runnin a nissan sentra QR25 RTR Spec V motor at 100mm stroke at 8000rpm and there were cracks starting to form on his crank and his seals in the VTC started popping out after 600 miles
