So I'm going to fulltime 3rd year at the end of this month..
I gotta wake up at 530am...and I come home at 4pm..
Like...4/7days of the week @@;;

And I was wondering if I should just quit my PT job or request to work only on sundays?

Studies have shown that holding a part-time job helps you do better in school.

But I'd stick to less than 10-15 hours a week.

Oh WOW. Waking up at 5:30 AM is tough. If you REALLY wanted to juggle being a full-time student and working a part-time job, it's totally doable. However, I think it takes someone with a lot of determination and motivation to do that. For example, my friend takes four classes each quarter and works 20 hours a week. And she still manages to have an active social life! But, for me, I have never worked more than 10 hours a week. To be safe and not kill yourself, I think you should work 10 hours max. And yeah -- maybe you should just ask your boss to work only on Sundays. Work is tiring and boring; trying to keep up with studying is already tough enough.

hm... your schedule is not that bad. Com'on I'm a FULL-TIME student and a part-time worker. I have 5 classes which is 17 credits and working 15 hours a week from mon- fri. This semester i will wake up from 5 am and work to 7pm.... I have to adjust my schedule by taking evening classes so I can work during the afternoon. This is how life works. I try to have an active social life in the weekend. See, this is how I balance my life. It will take effort to do this.

Do what you can do until you can't do it anymore.

But let me warn you.....you're going to give Starbucks a lot of business.

just depends on how much of a load you can handle... my first two years i worked part time and went to school full time.. and now i go to school full time PLUS work full time~ so i would say try it for a few weeks and if you cant handle it then you can always change your work schedule or quit or find another job~ happy.gif

i'm just wondering if your school work is suffering and if that's a lot of stress
cuz i go to school full-time, too but only work part time and i think that's enough for me

anything more and i know i'll have a nervous breakdown

I'll be a full time student (only 13 credits this semester) and working 2 part-time jobs (one on campus and one off campus) so I'll probably be working anywhere from 20-30 hours a week. working 1 part-time job during high school was quite stressful for me so I'm not sure how it'll work out in college sleep.gif

For some of us it's cruel reality. I won't be able to pay for tuition if I don't work a part-time job and it sucks a lot. I imagine a lot of kids use it as pocket money while my savings dwindle on gas and books.

working part time sucks. i'm just doing 16 hours right now.

i guess it depends on your job. if i held a lower position, it probably wouldn't be so bad.

>o<

Cuz I'll be workin in a restaurant...

And the scheduling is very easygoing for students....

I can 100% switch to a couple hours on Sunday/whole Sunday

But I dunno if I'll need that lazy Sunday to relax/study -o-.....

last semester i had classes mon-thur and from 9 'til 9 and did 8-10hr days of construction on the weekends. it's not so bad as long as you can manage your time well.
