Hello okay so my comp is on region 3!!!

and it won't play any of my recent dvds: ie Harry potter (USA)

someone said to get region free dvd software? Any1 know a good one? perferably free. Or plan B?

go to your "device manager"(right click my comp-> properties-> hardware tab-> device manager) Then click the + for dvd/cdrom drive then double click your dvd drive then pick the DVD region tab, and pick your country USA is (regioin 1) but becareful because you can only do it 4 times.

download a program called, AnyDVD
Just google it and you'll find it.
It is a free program that lets you watch ANY region DVD on your computer.
All you have to do is install it, and put in the DVD and it will automatically play the DVD for you, no matter what the region. This way, you dont even have to use up the 5 times that you are allowed to "switch regions", that came with your DVD drive when you bought it.
But this is a 21 day free trial, but you could always uninstall it then install it again

This program is worth the $30 A free alternative would be to use like DVDShrink/Decrypter to remove the regional coding.

try using DVD region killer, so you are able to play any region dvd without having to worry about the region thingo being changed.
