I moved in May and I've been taking summer classes but during summer classes, all the adults come out to go to college, so I was wondering what is an easy way to make friends in college once the fall semester starts? I don't know anyone except my Korean tutor and he's 26 (I'm 17).

But yeah, I know that you can go to orientation, but I dunno when that is (I'm going though) and that's about it.

What are some suggestions? ....Especially finding people that are into K stuff. (My city has a large korean population, so it probably won't be hard once I can get started)

Thanks to any and all positive replies!

if u dorm, leave ur door propped open when ur in ur room or on the computer. people love to pop in just to say hi or hang out. people also like to loiter in the hallways, so it makes joining in easier because u can hear if something is going on outside

make an initiative to meet more ppl....dont expect them to come to you.
so yeah just learn to be social.

here are some ways:
- join clubs (anything related to "korean stuff" if thats what u mean)
- meet friends of friends, then they will introduce you to their friends of their friends and so on
- talk to ppl in classes? (maybe this applies to discussion sections)
- facebook (look for ppl who live near to you? it works if you just send them a message)

I know for me a great way to make friends is through sports. I knew a friend who was in intermural soccer. So I joined the team and ended up getting to know the whole team and others I played with. Also, played some tennis with some people I knew from some of my classes and got to know them better that way too.
