I thought tonights episode was a little out of character for some of the characters Let me explain...

1. Dwight totally and utterly out of character. He was-- almost competent, as in not defending Michael's big check idea at all costs. When Michael told him to see Meredith he did it. Yes, he made a quick comment, but the normal Dwight would have argued and made a fuss for at least a little bit.

2. Dwight and Angela not making much of an attempt at all to hide their "secret" romance.

3. Angela seeking advice about Dwight openly and not in code.

4. Angela acting that emotional at work. She would have cried during a TH, but not in front of everyone.

5. Kevin being that into whether Pam and Jim are dating and involving Oscar. It was cartoonish. Of course he cares if they're boffing. He's Kevin. But it could have been a subtle. And why would Oscar care.

6. Pam and Jim going from on uneasy ground pre-Beach Games to a super-great relationship in two months.

7. Normal Dwight would not have killed Angela's cat.

8. The entire office reacting so openly to Michael's annoyances. A big part of the show is that the office makes comments about his behavior to the cameras, to each other, and give dirty looks, but they don't come out and say it.

9. Cutting Karen out in the first five seconds is a way convenient and artificial plot device. I know they had to ax her, but what about giving her a line? Something to make the transgression in the JAM story line less choppy.

Good-buy cutting comedy...but coulda been better

AHHH the office is back! Jim and Pam!! AHHHHHHHH! I do agree ^ on some parts, it seemed a bit unusual. Dwight was definitely not the normal Dwight. I felt so bad about Angela's cat.

nara jjang i totally agree!!!!!!!! i didn't feel like i was watching the office until the end of the second half... what's up with this they're changing their direction... i wonder why, i felt it near the end of last season too.. i was hoping they would be more like their previous seasons this season but no. GAH

ommggg!!! i really enjoyed the episode, it's true that Dwight wasnt Dwight, but I think that maybe is because they want to put the attention on jim & pam (yeaaaaaaah ) and they ignored him a little, or i just want to think that.
And I wanted a Kelly more angry, like on the webisodes, but i hope they show that later on the show.

but, awww, the scene when jim and pam are saying that they are together and they say "it's going great" with the big smiles,.....omg omg omg, it was awesome.

Oh my darn! I told my little sister to record it for me because I had class and she recorded Channel 11!! Son of a bologna! I really couldn't help but laugh when I read the review from Entertainment Weekly: "One second Michael's driving while rambling, and the next he's crashing into Meredith! hahah me too! i love/hate Michael..I liked the premiere but it wasn't as strong of an opening for the season as I thought it would be, especially compared to the past episodes but I still got some laughs out of it..it's cute how Jim and Pam are all giddy and FINALLY dating but I kind of missed that awkward angst they shared..in a way it's actually cuter than them being together...but can't wait to see what Dwight has in store! =D

OMG i died watching this episode. i thought it was a great season opener. and yayyy it was one hour!! ahh i missed the office so much. i wanna watch it again because i was distracted during some parts.

i think the hour long format has pacing issues. it does have its moments, but i hope its only temporary. it is trying to compete against csi and grey's anatomy. stiff competition.

Tonight's episode was so sad. I feel so sorry for Dwight and while I know that he euthanized Angela's cat but does she have to be so cruel?! Women are so vindictive. >< And I frickin' HATE ANDY! But Jim and Pam were as cute as ever though.

Jim: "Yup. I'm very passionate about Italian food. In fact, um, I'm in love with Italian food." <3

Plus, I loved the little Jim and Dwight moments.
