It's not too bad, your study room doesn't have bunk beds at least. The boys study room on the 2nd floor and some of the other study rooms have bunk beds and are a lot smaller. It's "mandatory" but like I said, you can always try to get out of it. I never went to a single meeting but that's cause I was never there, just get out of the dorms when it comes to meeting time if you don't want to go cause they'll be banging on your door every week. I never went to the fund raising events either, you can always make stupid excuses and opt out of it. Like if you have class or work or whatever. They don't know your class schedule or your work schedule so they can't make you go. But I suggest you go and participate if you want the recommendation at the end of the year. Plus it's a good way to bond with your hallmates.

=O so how big is the room compared to unit 1 and 2? kuz for orientation i stayed in otero..i was fine with the room i guess, lol. would it be smaller than otero? T_T and how long does each meeting last..and how often do we have events?
i really appreciate you answering our questions, i feel soo lost ><

mm I've never been to Otero but I've been to the other unit 1-3 halls and honestly it doesn't seem like there's THAT much difference but maybe that's cause I was the one staying in the big rooms cause every time someone from unit 1 halls came over they always thought it was SO huge and SO much bigger. I don't think the size of the rooms were that big of a deal, I just hated how everything looked so old and dirty in the unit 1-3 halls compare to our hall. But I'm sure your study room isn't smaller than those of unit 1, if anything they're probably the same size. I don't know how long the meetings are, lol..an hour or so? The events vary..I think the fund raising event went for like a week or less and there were other events to prepare for the service day like making stuff for the kids or something, idk so I guess it depends on what you guys pick as your service event. The events weren't that often, it was just the meetings that were like every week. Don't worry about it, I was just as lost a year ago, I'm glad to be a help. :)

Does anyone know when the Campus Village housing information is going to come out?

It's getting sent out tomorrow(Friday). You should get it by Saturday if you live in So Cal like me.

I tried talking them into letting me pick it up tomorrow since i would be there for class anyway, but no shot.

^I guess you can do that..but they check pretty thoroughly during room inspection over winter break. My friend got written up for having a beer bong in his room and he hid it pretty well. Anyway there's microwaves in every hall, you just have to go out to the kitchen to use it...so I suggest you don't bring it, unless you're like REALLY lazy or something.

You CAN bring a microwave.. if you hide it. I had one in my room when I dormed, but my roommate brought it home during winter break so they won't catch us with it. hahah. But when she was bringing it back, our RA caught her. O_O So she brought it back when the RA wasn't there (: You don't really NEED a microwave in your room, it's just more convenient.

Yeah I thought it was only through mail too but I checked my email today and VIOLA there it was!
Also, I'm in Arroyo Vista, which might be why.
We get it later, too. Mesa and Middle got theirs already.

Thanks for everyone's input on Selva - makes me even more pumped up ;DDD <3

Anyways, now a question about textbooks - it doesn't matter if UCI has a custom edition, right? Those are just the regular edition with sections cut out, yeah? & does anyone have a full set of HumCore books for sale? [9780452273054, 9780872204201, 9780312433093, 9780555036617, 9780555036624, 9780691020433, 9781551111315, 9780872200760] Currently looking around for those ~

You cannot sad.gif All those poor cold lonely burritos. I was told that it blows the fuse by a staffer at SPOP. Oh well.. don't get caught. Just hide it under your bed...... or you could do what you said.. cover it with a blanket. Or you can get a desktop computer, and let the case get REALLY hot and make a burrito there.
