Has anybody taken the Spanish placement test?
I need to take it this coming Sunday right before my SPOP and I'm scared that I've forgotten everything from the past 4 years and end up failing it or something -____-
Our school doesn't even bother with the vosotros form either D:
Is it only a pass/fail exam?
Or like how do they place you based on the results ><
Because apparently, since I'm an English major, I need to take up to Spanish 2C (which is the equivalent of 4 years of HS spanish, but I think I still need to the take the placement exam to get placed and then work may way up)

sighhh can somebody PM me about this if you know? Especially if you're an English major because I'm really confused

It's really easy to change majors. Meet the GPA requirements for the School you're switching to, and the major requirements, and fill out the form. By 7-10 days, if everything checks out, it should be changed.

Also, I believe our nursing program is new. Wouldn't call it "popular" just yet.

Oh thank you!
Hmm... so is it possible to change your major right when you enroll as a freshman (aka like when you step into the school for the first time LOL)
If that makes sense..... thanks!

Yes, it is possible.
There is a site which allows you to change your major.
I haven't done it so I wouldn't know but it should be fairly easy.

I changed my undeclared major to BioSci major through the My Admissions site. It only took a day for them to process it !_!

it's not possible to fail a PLACEMENT test. It just assesses what level you are at with the subject. Don't stress too much

just wondering if anybody here has taken advanced composition for teachers with goodridge? i'm in need of a upper-division writing course and this was the only thing available. but i'm a bio major so i was wondering if that class is only meant for future teachers? or would it still count towards my upper-division writing?

also... what do you do in this class? haha i was seriously desperate for a class because i needed 12 units so i signed up for this without knowing what it is. >.<

Has anyone taken History of Asian Art 42A or History of Western Art 40A?

I can't find any reviews for the History of Western Art course and professor [ Cassibry]

I'm not a UCI student (but I really wish to be!) --- still in HS )-: --- and I was wondering if changing majors @ UCI is an easy thing... like if you apply for an unpopular major just to get in (lol excuse me) & then you want to change it to something else....
And does anyone know if UCI's nursing program is like a popular one?

It's easier getting admitted as a nursing major than switching. Each class usually has around 50 students and they fill the 50 with transfers based on how many freshmen they accept that year (for example, if one year they accept 30 freshmen, only 20 spots are available for transfers). I think 800+ people applied last year and less than 50 got accepted.

yup i lived there last year for my first year smile.gif
it was super fun bonding with hall mates and meeting new people. as for the rooms itself, i lived in lluvia which was phase 3 dorms i think, so our bathrooms were really spacious and nice and our rooms were pretty big. the lighting is better too. yup, lots of room!
dorm life was pretty fun for me. but yeah, if you want to meet more people and be more social, go to lots of events!

wait for the adjustment period
is the enrollment period already over? if it isn't keep checking back and see if anything on the waitlist opens up
i don't know if this will happen again but last quarter but a class added more seats after it closed. slim chance but still

or try adding the class with the add card when school starts

I have a few questions regarding the placement tests:

Where are we suppose to check-in?

Where can I park, so that I'm not so far from the check-in?

Do we have to pay for visitor parking? If so, how much?

=] Please and Thank You! Much appreciated for the help.

haha this is late but thanks for the placement test advice
stupid question : (

Anybody freshies here go to spop already?
spop 2 was amazinggg : D
I'm so excited right now and can't wait to starttt

@ sunnylove
Mesa is pretty big (like it's pretty spacious) compared to ME
You'll want to visit and check it out for yourself though
In terms of the dorms being fun, I mean...it is a DORM
You'll want to go and find something to do on campus (clubs, etc.) and you should really be studying somewhere else other than your dorms lol

=___= I'm screwed.

I requested my transcript to be sent into UCI more than two weeks ago, but I was just told that it hasn't been received yet. My high school has already closed for the summer too. I've put in contact with my counselor and UCI but no response.

I have SPOP 6.

^ I'm sort of having the same trouble : (
I sent my comm college transc for classes I took during hs but only one term got sent which is REALLY weird because everything should have been sent -____- I'm so pissed off right now and it's giving me a huge headache.

Do you have an official transcript with you?
If you do and if it's sealed, you can take it with you to spop and give it to the admissions office
Other than that, I would keep trying to contact them, or else ask at spop.
